The current makeup of this team, particularly the core, is just too inconsistent. For this team to truly succeed a big change is needed. LY was an anomaly, this team has been wallowing in mediocrity for years. A season with no playoff is what this team needs to shake it up. Would love for the Flames to succeed, just can't do it with this current core of players |

Thanks for your blog todd. But you Rely to much on corsi and possession numbers. I have to totally disagree with you on Gaudreau. Sure he was buzzing around all night but that’s all he was doing skate around the net 10 time not using his teammates. then makes a bad pass or gets pushed off the puck Constantly. If he moves the puck through the Neutral zone instead of trying to stickhandle! the kings would never have scored ,all he had to do Is pass it over to monahan and he and Lindholm would have been on an have 2on 1. Don't get me wrong he is a very good player but he will never be an elite player in this league until he learns to use his teammates properly. It must frustrate his teammates. |

I like reading how much other teams fans and writers look at how effective and good a player Toffoli is. Kings “fans” crap on him constantly, and wish he was gone and wish Clifford was still a King. His stats are decent and his advanced stats are solid especially for playing on a crap kings team.
I’m not to sure a division rival will trade one of their top players to them, but he’d definitely help you guys out in your top 2, and he’d definitely help out in the playoffs. |

I turned the game off after LA scored back-to-back in the second - just got the feeling the game was already over. Rittich had it right when he scowled and yelled at the bench after the 2nd goal. Half-assed effort by many players I thought. |

I don't know what it is but LA gets in their heads. Every time they play them its like they overthink every move out there to the point where mistakes happen then it steam rolls into a mess. |

Toffoli is a good player. I don’t know why LA can’t get a 1st for him and a good prospect. Kreider isn’t much better if at all. The only difference between the 2 is Kreider goes to the net and is faster. Toffoli has good board battles. PP guy. nice right hand shot and for the most part has a good IQ.
Toffoli 15G 31P I believe
And
Kreider 22G 40P
Not far off. |

No one available is worth a 1st and a good prospect. I wouldn't be surprised if Toffoli ends up getting them a 1st, but he's not comparable to Kreider. The difference between a 20 goal 40 point season and a 30 goal 60 point season is massive.

Very smart move by Kassian ...he knows deep down he’s a 4th liner without Connor ...no Connor ...no problem I can sit out too so they don’t realize how terrible I really am
