Boyle just said it - this upcoming period could be the most important period of the season for Chicago.

We need Kubalik on first unit until Dcat turns it around. Dcat is struggling scoring goals, but he’s still on pace for close to 60 points, why would we send him down? This is a question for the board. - Angotti
great question.
ask the gms who reside here. They know everything. Surprised they aren't employed across the NHL. Maybe they are....they did have trade rumors a few years back. |

Kubalik was playing the point on the 1st unit. I didn't suggest sending him down. Dinky is a goal scorer who has been fighting the puck all season. He isn't the first guy to struggle after signing his first big contract. I think he trying too much every time he touches the puck. |

To get his game back - for a couple of games - I’d be good with that.

UP/DOWN.....all this complaining about 4th liners or supposedly obese goalies or whatever else is hilarious. The team hasn't been consistent all year and is flawed. That's why they lose. Has zero to do with JUST ONE guy. Contrary to the so called experts who reside here. |

He’s a goal scorer - Hawks need him to score goals.
He’s not improving - his total game is regressing. I don’t know about Rockford, but press box for a game or two sounds right. |

Was this before the game? Why were the players waving for help away from the bench? Wouldn't the trainers be behind the bench? - powerenforcer
They apparently were waiving to the Ducks trainers. Not sure why? |

how many 2nd year players after a remarkable rookie year across all sports regress? A lot. League adjusts, players have to adjust to back.
Then throw in getting paid a large amount of money and the pressure that comes with proving you are worth it......he is getting chances. He is getting shots. He's on pace for 60 points.
He hasn't been as good as last year. It happens. Nobody here knows what the coaching staff or upper management is saying to him off the ice....the hawks need the kid to be a corner stone if they are to rebound.
Now, if he continues to make Vesteeg type mistakes and the risk outweighs the reward of what he brings offensively.....I don't disagree on possibly scratching him.
However this idiotic general notion of sending him to Rockford or shipping him out of town is just dumb. it isnt' happening unless Bowman is absolutely blown away by an offer. |

They look to be waiving (Pieterangelo) across the ice. Maybe to get EMTs on site asap?
At least he was alert.....hopefully it's a simple as being dehydrated. |

So Smith is just going to rip his own mask off every time he's fearful of an impending goal? |

All anybody has to do is think back over about 6 weeks to every game that was considered important to the Hawks in making a run up the standings. They've lost just about every single one.
Without the goaltending they have had all season, they are down in LA Kings standings territory. |

I think that everybody here believes that this team is flawed, or we would not be a bubble team, we just want to minimize some of the flaws. Because the team is not elite is the reason that we cannot afford two to three give aways by Gus every game, or weak goals given up by our goalies, or Smith on the PP, or the Cat not scoring, and so on. |

I know it. Hoping all is well, the post above sounds promising.
Meanwhile JUST as I predicted all the ref whiners have been silent as the Hawks have rolled to 3 straight power plays. Double standards and hypocrisy, shocked I tell you, shocked.
Of course they will say, those calls against the Oilers were good calls. Those against the Hawks bad calls. And there have been NO missed calls against them, only the Hawks. |

Why was the play stopped? And why wasn't the 3rd goal waved off when there was intent to blow the play dead? This is the inconsistent reffing that looks to rig games. |
