Bowman would have to be insane to move Lehner or Crawford at this point..... First off I think Lehner is the goalie of the future - at least for the next 5 years at least - and Crow could be a solid backup next season on a cheap contract (750k, er maybe 1M).... But not only that - the Hawks have a TON of cap space to really improve this team at the trade deadline.... Bowman is in an excellent position to improve this team drastically... The Hawks could realistically go from a "bubble team" to a contender if Bowman uses the cap space correctly and brings in the right UFA's/RFA's....
Obviously anyone Bowman brings in will have to be on an expiring contract, or trade a guy that has a few more years left on his deal...
The Hawks are in an interesting position, but going all in now is the right thing to do... Selling and throwing in the towel would just be silly... - Savard2Secord
Nobody here will admit it but $7m is a bargain for an above average goalie. It was 6 years ago now we got Crow for $6m.

Why in the world do you think Crow would sign for pennies? - BMWChiFan

WOW
McD sounding uncharacteristically realistic in the pre-game.
Paraphrasing: you never want to surrender, but you also have to be objective and honest about where you are. We're 23rd in NHL, 12th in conference and that's not good enough. You have to know who you are. There's a cycle of success and you're seeing all the teams who were dominant go through it. Some of circumstances were out of their control. Still trying to make playoffs Says next eight games will determine.
First time I think I've heard him say directly to the fans that they are in a down cycle/rebuild.
Side note: Konroyd says Gus's play has been "fantastic," so he won't be back. |

It takes 2 to tango. A lot of teams are in the same position as the Hawks. There is still 2 weeks until the TDL. Also, how do you know that the other GM’s like what Hockey cards a Stan has - LAHawk
Yup takes two to tango real and fantasy are not the same. |

Glad to hear it. Didn't have to if their goal is 1 goal. In order to do that 1st and foremost you have to be honest and critical of who you are. Sellers at deadline sounds right.

Little doubt - always like Sharpy's big brother relationship with Kane and Toews |

Konroyd has a very different definition of fantastic than we do. |

Highmore does everything that Nylander doesn’t, and none of them require ‘skill’.
Skate hard
Pressure the puck
Win 50/50 pucks
Win races
Pressure on the forecheck
Back check
Go into the corners hard
It’s not hard. It just requires ‘want to’. |

Once Strome gets going his speed is okay-ish. Not great by any stretch. The main issue is he lacks any quickness at all. It takes him a few strides to get up to speed. In the playoffs when things get tighter, his lack of pop in his initial strides is a concern. He is going to have hard time getting any separation to be able to utilize his hands and vision. Maybe once he gets a bit more strength he can compensate muscling his way to space. If that makes sense. - Elbows15
Actually makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

When did Toews, Caggiula & Kubalik become the best line in the NHL?

How many GM’s coaches has Buffalo gone through since the Peguila’s took over? - LAHawk
To many, just can't get it right. I am hoping Botts can get it somewhat right the next 6-7months. Waisting away some decent talent, unfortunately with how depleted are system was a few years ago, had to try and fill with average players and nothing worked. Some nice prospects coming up the line, just have to wait for them to get here. |
