Crawford / lehner gust and sikrua to toronto for kapeean ceci, to offset the money, bracco or another prospect and a 2nd this year and 3rd next year. The pressure is on the Toronto to make the playoffs i think will have to overpay.
- Scott1977

Unless the Hawks are completely out of it, I don't see them making a move. Unless someone offers an absolute haul for Saad or Strome I think there will be very little movement from the Hawks. Maybe Gus gets moved, but he's likely gone at the end of the year regardless. If the Hawks are still close or in a WC spot I think Stan keeps everything as is. They value making the playoffs too much not to.

Only reasone ceci would come in a trade is to offset the money other than that he sucks and brings nothing to the ice.

I know im shifting gears here but any chance De Haan returns if Hawks make playoffs? He had surgery end of December and recovery was estimated 4-5 months.
- catrisc

Not likely. But he can probably join the team in time for the Stanley Cup Finals.

I’m sure you watch him more than I do, in that case forget it, and we don’t want Nylander either, I like 200’ forwards.

Some background info on Seeger, from Michael Russo in ‘The Athletic’.

In 99 games with the Wild, Seeler, a former Gopher, scored two goals, nine assists, amassed 93 penalty minutes and was an even plus-minus. After a tough first-year pro with Iowa in 2016-17, Seeler was one of the prospect pool’s most improved players in 2017-18. He impressed so much in Des Moines, he was recalled to Minnesota and was terrific, assisting on four goals and being a plus-10 in 22 games.

Seeler made the Wild out of training camp last season and played 71 games. But his regular spot in the lineup ended in January once the Wild traded for Brad Hunt, then claimed Anthony Bitetto off waivers in a three-day span. He ended up sitting on an almost nightly basis, a theme that continued surprisingly into this season.

Seeler worked hard all of last summer in anticipation of a roster battle this season. The assumption by everyone, even those amongst the Wild coaching staff, was Seeler, Hunt and Greg Pateryn would be vying nightly to play on the third defense pair.

However, Carson Soucy, considered the Wild’s most disappointing player in the 2018-19 training camp and an early roster cut because of it, redeemed himself with a strong training camp this time. He ended up making the team, had a strong first half and thus pushed Seeler down the depth chart. Seeler had a tough training camp and start to the season because he does have a tendency to take bad penalties or lose his composure on the ice.

He has produced every level he has been at. Not saying he will make it in the NHL, but he would instantly become the top rated forward in the Hawks system not playing on the big club. Strome is slow, Brock Boesser is not a speedster, ADB is not a speedster.

Elbows here is a few questions for you should the hawks sell or stand pat? If they are selling who should go and for what?

I know this is probably pretty early to say this, but I feel this might be the biggest night of the season for the Hawks. So many games with playoff positioning this evening:

Hawks vs Wild
Knights vs Lightning
Stars vs Islanders
Preds vs Jets
Sharks vs Flames
Oilers vs Coyotes

If the Hawks win, and the Coyotes and Flames lose in regulation, they are only 1 point out of the 2nd WC spot and 2 out of 1st WC (depending on other results too. A lot of scoreboard watching tonight, just hope the Hawks show up to play like they have been recently.

On a side note, I was looking at the points and my god the Wings are hurting. They need a full rebuild. Got me thinking about Athanasiou. RFA next year, with a 3M cap it. 30 goals last year, but having an off year. But I love the speed he brings. Defense on the other hand needs help, I think he is last in +/- in the NHL. It would be interested to see if the Wings can wait a few years with him on their roster, or if this might be a time they would sell since he is set to make more money next season. I love watching him fly down the ice though!

I love the optimism, there's no way any team it's going to trade a young asset like Nylander or Johnsson or Kap, we'll end up with draft picks and prospects

Hasn't the Hawks had to give up young assets because of cap trouble?

If Stan can’t get Nylander for Gus he should be fired.

And Doug Crossman, whom we traded for Ben Wilson, man I hated that trade.
