Mike Augello: Leafs finally even in games, only moving Kapanen in "big" deal

Don’t waste assets in a year they are going to miss.

I don't like the idea of trading Kap.. He is so fast, and that is hard to replace.. I'd rather give up Johnson. He is probably the better player, but I think Kap's speed is a better asset for the leafs,

Georgiev is another goalie crapshoot and it's not like Andersen isn't known to be streaky, so he could bounce back and be rock solid for the rest of the season, and we moved a top 6/9 winger for a guy who's going to backstop for like 3 games?

if mickheyav is back, he could be expendable. but that was a nasty injury. not sure if that is guaranteed.

Leafs need to keep players on contracts that are team friendly deals for obvious reasons. To trade away futures assets to just get in the playoffs, only to get bounced early, would set the team back for who knows how long. Young players on entry level deals are what make teams. Leafs used to look strong throughout their system. They need to keep what picks they have to replenish the pipeline

I disagree, Leafs need to go out and sign someone with some real grit and spend whatever it takes. A real David Clarkson or Wayne Simmonds type
