Yep....that's what I gather.
Any time any Hawks player doesn't put up his normal amount, he has some hidden ailment derailing his season.
Apparently you can't have a down year......now having multiple down years in a row is another animal.
Oh, don't forget....you are expected to IMMEDIATELY produce as well...See Nylander. - SteveRain
...then complain when not meeting expectations as a 19yr old...like Teuvo? |

All of it.
What is sad is that it always comes back to this guy vs that guy.
Ie….Lehner vs Crawford. I think Lehner is the better option long term assuming the financial amount isn't asinine. Doesn't mean I don't like Crawford or respected his game for the last decade here.
We all would love them all to retire as hawks but that's not possible given the salary cap....Ive accepted that.
And this notion of a guy "earning his right to retire a Hawk" is crazy because all you are doing is hurting yourself further down the road to be competitive. Seabrook is a prime example.....
This board should be a riot the next 10+ days until the Hawks play again. All the MDs will be out sending me links of DeBrincat showing a possible tell of some hand/wrist injury . Can't wait. |

How do we factor his high shot attempt (highest per game in his long career) when it comes to his damaged wrist?
Does his increase in assists as well factor in to production or more proof he is clearly hurt and passing...versus shooting even more? |

I think the bigger conspiracy is why John McDonough, Jay Blunk and Rocky Wirtz blatantly chose not to air the Q tribute when they have no problem wheeling out any and all ex hawks for honorary nights they have no point in getting....yet glossed over this "tribute"
Or their attempt to kick them out of the hallway when Q, Kane, Toews, Keith and Seabrook got together and were catching up
But it's not about McD and the front office ego that had Q ousted. Had to do with 'a stale' dressing room and not meddling from the suits |

If you haven't read the athletic article by clown Lazerus do so.....not fan of ole Mark by any stretch but that article of Q and Dale down in Florida was a solid piece.
Q mentioned saying they were on the same page.....something he and Bowman were not if you read between the lines and Mark even brought up the Hammer and Panarin trades.....Im amazed mark didn't have his press pass revoked. |

This. He clearly hasn’t played well this season, and the team and it’s PP could really use his help. No more “bad luck” excuses for the Cat moving forward.
Really hoping he can figure things out and find his game before seasons end. Maybe Strome coming back can spark him and Dach. You gotta figure that trio as a 3rd line should be able to produce. - SimpleJack
Not that the two are the same type of player, but Laine was brutal for the first half of last year and he found a way to turn it on at the end. Maybe Cat can do the same. |

Yeah I dont have the athletic subscription anymore. Theres zero doubt Q took the high road and was treated poorly by some of the suits bruised egos and power trips. But he gets it and is in a good place...so good on him. He looks/sounds pretty happy |

If you take his junior numbers into account, I guess Boqvist should be in traction... |

You don't need to read between the lines. Q was interviewed on NBCChicago before the game and was asked about Dale and Stan. Said it was very similar. In both cases the GM respected the boundary between GM and coach roles. Said Dale talks to him more than Stan, but found both similar. Could be all baloney, but that's what he said. |

Did they choose not to air it, or is that controlled by the network? I think the "honorary nights" are for guys that aren't in the game anymore. Most of the time when a player or coach comes back they just have a quick tribute up on the board and Foley talks about it for a minute. |

Organizations have different approaches. Its not a bad thing, just the way they are run.
Q had a great run, will go down as the greatest Hawks coach ever, and for that....I am grateful he was here to take over for Savard. I 100% believe they don't win without Q as coach. Did he play favorites? Sure. Did his tactics and line blending get old? Sure. Did he have his faults? Sure. However, lot of false narratives about him not developing young guys is all BS. That's EXACTLY what he did when took over in November of 2008. Go back and watch the Arizona game that month where he benched Kane and Sharp for f ing up in there own zone.
Until 1 of the big 5 (2/7/19/50/88) get dealt and have their video montage that should end reflecting on the last decade. Decade of dominance. Now everyone needs to look forward and hopefully this team isn't down for too long.....
BTW...just when you are ready to get all excited....they drop a very winnable game before a break....the home record of 12-12-3 is horrible. |

I don't care who screwed up, it was bs it wasn't aired.
Especially after it was mentioned in the pregame show the 1st time out he was being recognized.
Glad I got to see two Mike Bloomberg political ads instead...... |

The network that the Hawks own 25% of?
They have forgone commercial breaks before and to have the best coach in the teams history, probably 2nd/3rd best in all of Chicago sports history....
Personally, I'm not a fan of that stuff. But...they make it a point to do it and do it better than others. And just seems a bit odd that with all he brought to the city, they made a conscious effort to do it during a break and not televise it |

Meh. It's available all over the internet. Doesn't seem like an egregious thing. It played inside the arena just fine; and all parties seemed happy. It was a nice night.
Not sure why some (not directed at you) want to find evidence of ill will among the parties. I guess it helps to advance preconceived memes. |

No, he’s still busy making his case that Darcy Kuemper is the greatest goalie in NHL history.
Haha...that dude Tanner needs to stay on his meds. He's legit crazy. |

I think it was a mistake. You aren't going to mention it on air, pregame as a host, if you didn't think they were going to air it.
That was my point.
I saw it on twitter and found it hilarious the florida tv network aired it live...…. |

or the magical back injury that has stopped been taking points since Toews started playing up to his potential?
Could he be banged up? Sure....so could anyone....
With Seabs you saw a slower, beaten up version.....DeBrincat is still motoring around, and still throws his weight around....not sure a guy with a bad hand/wrist is going to be checking guys.
Point is....it very well could be he is having a BAD YEAR. It happens. But this continual spin of trying to blame injuries for any hawks player having an off year is extremely tiresome. - SteveRain
He is having a BAD YEAR is spot on and totally agree, the spin is insane |
