Fun fact: the original title for the song you posted was "Soul Minus Five" as a tribute to Big T's game on the weekend

Hall has hardly been spectacular.
He is a good get especially if he resigns.

Great god dog analogy. Probably the best analogy I’ve heard in a while.

I thought I had the solution to your Taylor Hall problem, but I don't have any idea how it would work. I was looking at Capfriendly and, holy crap! your boy-genius Chayka LOVES to over-pay people, and for long periods of time, too. I would love to hear how you think Chayka is going to resign Hall without gutting the team. Anyway, my idea was to get Bob Murray to get Getzlaf to waive his NMC and trade him to the Yotes for prospects. Hall would finally have a center who can feed him the puck. Problem is, AZ has no cap room this year and very little next year and Getzlaf has one more year at a cap hit of $8.75 million. Oh well, I tried.

It’s not at all a stretch that they’d be able to sign Hall. They have Soderbergs $4.5M coming off the books, Mike Ribeiros ~$2M buyout coming off, so that alone gets you almost there. Just one defensemen would have to be traded (likely Goligoski or Demers) which isn’t that painful with Capobianco and Soderstrom likely to be ready next season. The other perk is they likely get a 2nd rounder out of that trade which helps restock the draft picks.

Overall Chayka is a genius. Almost all of his contracts are steals, with maybe OEL being the exception. Chychrun/Schmaltz/Dvorak are all already underpaid and haven’t hit their prime yet. Keller is is earning his keep well before his prime as well.

Bigger impacts, played here longer, but I don't think either guy ever won a Hart Trophy or was as talented. Plus, at least Big T is a nice guy.

Whatever technicalities the NHL wants to employ, I consider Dale Hawerchuck, Teemu Selanne, Tempo Numinen et. al. to be part of the Jets history. Those guys didn't play in Phoenix and Winnipeg has a new team.

Jets/Coyotes. Same team. Same franchise.

Yes but as an adult human you can probably differentiate. It's not hard to understand that the Jets should be given back the history and records that go along with their franchise, which is in the same city.

I might agree with you if the current Jets weren’t the Thrashers for a decade before hand. Keep the players and the stats with the same franchise though.

I agree but can’t help but chime in that Teppi Numminen played most of his career for the Yotes and was our captain when he retired. A happy part of our history.

Also, Tkachuk scored 50 goals twice as a Yote so maybe Hall has a little ways to go to dethrone him.
