It’s easier to win with elite QB play than it is to get 6-7 great defensive players + still have a competent enough offense to be a contender
Patrick Mahomes on the Bills is a 15-1 team.
Josh Allen on the Chiefs is an 8-8 team
QB’s make up the biggest win differential of any position in sports and it isn’t even remotely close
It should be every teams #1 objective - sbroads24
Pat Mahomes is going to retire the best QB to ever play the game. Using him is like saying every team should try to emulate the 1985 Bears defence.
Drew Brees has one ring, and has lost to Case Keenum, Jared Goff (with some terrible officiating involved) and Kirk Cousins his last three trips to the playoffs.
Elite QB play guarantees you nothing but a playoff spot, if that. Matt Ryan is watching from home this year due to shoddy defensive play and lack of running game.

#1 offence vs #1 defence.
If you look at all 50 Super Bowls I’m sure the team with the better defence won more than the team with the better offence. - Pegullaville
You can't exclude 84% of Super Bowls because they don't fit your narrative. It's like the absurdity in the playoffs last year that "well in the games he won, Binnington played really well".

Perhaps, I don't feel like going through them all, but most of the games have a ton of points scored, so it's not like they always shut the other team down. In the 10 I looked at that great defenses played in, most allowed way more points than they did during the season to, in almost every instance, a great QB.

And JJ Watt, who’s considered one of, if not the best defensive player of the past decade has like 1 or 2 playoff wins.
Plenty of ways to win in NFL. You have the elite QB in Mahomes against the 49ers Jimmy Gs 48 passing yards!!! Both are going to the super bowl.
For every Brady, Rodgers, Manning and Brees there are a Flacco, Foles, Jimmy G. I rather have the elite hall of fame QB but that is so hard to get. - Fattony1187

No one's saying you can't win with a good ground game and playing good defense.

Jimmy Goroppolo tearing his ACL was the best thing that ever happened to him.
It's hard to argue that defense wins championships when you have 30 Superbowl MVPs that were QBs and 9 that were defenseman. Also having the winner score over 30 points 27 times. 22 times with over 50 points combined and 10 over 60. There were also only 18 games with a combined score under 40.
