Super effort by a galiant bunch of road warriors! Not sure too many expected them to come this close to winning game after brutal schedule. Successful road trip!

Huge game on Sunday, need to put those Preds back where they belong - well below us!

Yes, Valiant effort by the Jets only to come up short. The second game in a row the refs don't whistle a gloved pass dead. Both times it costs the Jets a key goal....this time the tying goal by Pasternak. It was even more obvious this time as the Jets waited a bit before touching the puck in anticipation of the whistle which never came.

Other than the penalty to Kulikov he actually played a decent game.

Yea Kulikov played one of his better games. pleasantly surprised. Also think that Poolman is solidifying his spot more and more every game. Pionk looks like a steal now. Still need that #1 d-man though IMO. Not sure where you find him.

good article and assessment of the Jets.

Brossoit looked the best I have seen him this year and maybe since the first 1/2 of last year when he was brilliant. All five goals were good goals (maybe didn't set himself up the best for the 5th goal but a good goal all the same) and was otherwise in control of his game with managed rebounds and square to shooters, not overplaying.

Kyle Connor was the one to watch, had an excellent game, same for Pionk and Sheifele. Copp is an important player on this team.

I am not going to call out anyone who didn't play well as that was a tough stretch of schedule, a great bruins team and the effort was there.

Is anyone else still choked that there was no penalty, fine or suspension on the Morrissey boarding incident last week? (I know... let it go, move along)

trade buff at the deadline and over pay Pietrangelo as a UFA

then use assets acquired from Buff plus a rosy or vesalainen to acquire the center icemen needed

why did the kid have to fight the gronk Chara in the first place? Clean hit and Chara mauls him. 'bout time Chara got his bell rung!!

Thanks for posting this. perhaps bloggers who revel in a player getting punched in a surgically repaired jaw while standing up for a downed teammate will do a little more research next time.

After the Capitals systematically eliminated two Bruins defensmen in the closing minutes of their 7-3 loss, the B's received lots of criticism for not standing up for their own. Say what you want about a guy who's 6'9" coming off jaw surgery, but at least he stood up for his teammate, and i wouldnt call that a "mauling" but thanks for playing.

I preferred the old blogger to this new one.
This guy is whiny and not as clever as he believes he is.

No one underestimates the Jets.
They are a great team.
So why the stupid headline?
No one schedules a win against the Jets. Even after a back to back and 3 in 4 nights, they are never to be taken lightly.
Respect your team more, kid.

Yes, that would be the ideal situation. Interested in the GM position on HockeyBuzz?

Clean hit or not a clean hit, doesn't matter people get hurt.

the 'mauling' was about accountability and a consequence for hitting vigorously. It is about supporting teammates victimized by a check for doing their job. Chara did what he had to do, the kid did what he had to do, the refs did what they had to do. I wish there was more of it.

the frequent, high intensity collisions we are seeing (clean or not) are something relatively new to hockey and are dangerous.

relax shoreorrpark. I preferred shore, orr and park over the new bruins

The headline was sarcasm and we have come to expect competitive games every night from this team in spite of injuries (looks like we are on the mend, Little is missed the most) and the unexpected loss of Byfuglien.

Wes is the man with the microphone and is a true fan of the Jets 2.0

The Jets should look at doing a deal with the Sharks. Couture injured for six weeks, Burns, Jones and Dell all struggling. Lebanc will need a new contract in the off-season and as such San Jose might be in the mood to trade an established player for prospects and picks. San Jose also does not have their own first round pick and seem to be going nowhere fast. In order for us to get that second line center I suggest:

To SJ: Sami Niku, Kristian Vesalainen or Jack Roslovic, Laurent Brossoit, 2020 second round pick

To WPG: Tomas Hertl

Last night cemented Sami Niku's status for me. Maurice clearly does not see him as being better than Bitteto and Sbisa. We already have tremendous depth at wing and do not see Vesalainen in our top 6, yet alone top 9 for the next 3 years. Maurice also values Copp ahead of Roslovic and it appears as if Roslovic's stock in the Jets organization is declining.

Hertl would provide the Jets with solid secondary or even primary scoring! He is also a long-term solution for that issue as opposed to being a rental. Jets also have the cap space to make this deal happen!

If I am going to overpay for someone, that someone would be Nicklas Backstrom.

Maurice has said a 1000 times in interviews he doesn’t like to change his lineup after a win,

Sadly!!! Niku has only played three games this year, all wins, yet scratched after every single one.

You are correct, no matter what he says publicly, Maurice doesn’t like Niku!!! Clear as day!!!

I like Tomas Hertl. A lot. Top liner with 3 position proven ability...

But the first offer is too much, with the second being nowhere near enough. I’m not moving Niku before Maurice has his next coaching deal settled, and I’m not moving Ves with a gun to my head.

Y... yeah. But he’s never leaving Washington. He’s negotiating his own extension with the team by himself right now. He’s staying out, which is great for the continued continuity of my jersey collection.

(RIP my Trouba, Enstrom, and Petan jerseys)
