You can't simply look at Shots Against per game, it's the quality of the chances given up that's the problem. Too many sloppy turnovers and mental mistakes that have led to the opposing team basically having a free run to the net. How many times have we seen an opposing player just speed into the Preds zone with two or sometimes three gold jersey's just kind of standing around like they're admiring his stick handling? One of the best Defensive game the Preds played this year was against the Rangers who put 40+ shots on Saros but most of them weren't particular dangerous or difficult for Juse to track down. It's not the quantity of the shots and chances being surrendered, it's the quality. I'm not defending the goal-tending either, it's not been good. Both goalies getting pulled after giving up 3 quick ones in both their respective starts is flat out embarrassing. They're getting hung to dry way too much though, and being asked to bail out Lavy's offense far too often. Peks in particular just can't do it like he used too.

I am looking forward to the Winter Classic, mostly for the Novelty of watching my team play outdoors for the first time. Win or lose, I'm just hoping the Preds show up and least put up a fight. As frustrating as this season as been so far, the Preds at least cleaned up some of the effort issues I bellyached about so much last year. Other than a couple of odd games here and there, I've never felt like the team has flat given up even though they always seem to be battling uphill. It's the skill on the ice and the ability to finish that are the question marks now.

I predict a total Predators meltdown reasons
1. National Stage, this team chokes more than a virgin on prom night
2. We just plain suck
3. Dallas is better
4. There are going to be more beatings going on tomorrow than when a 14 yr old boy finds pornhub...........

Offensively, you simply can’t feel good about a team that continues to have defensemen as their leading scorers and your third line being the largest threat on the ice. Matt Duchene’s cold streak appears to be ending, Filip Forsberg has been looking more dangerous lately, showing all the signs of one of his patented goal scoring tears and Viktor Arvidsson is heating up as well. All of this need to continue for this team to put themselves back in the hunt.

It needs to start tomorrow… it needs to start at puck drop tomorrow."

So Paul what if it doesn't start tomorrow??????????????? What then...

This is a good team but it lacks heart, and coercion we need a militarist coach..

Well, the D men have always been the most consistent scorers. As good as Forsberg and Arvy are, this team lacks a superstar. Lots of good players, but not many great ones. The system Lavy runs just isn't working with these guys. They're flat out awful. We're going to be sellers, no doubt.

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised, the trend has been downward for a while, and when you make no changes to the coaching staff and only add one supposedly elite free agent, the return isn't going to be good. Poile won't pull the trigger on Lavy, so this season is lost.

There's always next year.

We need a new blogger. The Winter Classic was two days ago, arguably the biggest game the Preds have played in since the Cup Finals. I see that the Jets have a blog up this morning. They played last night.

Give Paul a break. It takes time to polish a positive shine on a turd this big. I figured he'd just run with the two PP goals... But yeah. I know Paul rarely blogs while the teams on the road, but you can't just gloss over the Winter Classic... Even if it doesn't go your teams way.

you must remember.....Paul is an employee of the Preds.....Every Nashville team in his eyes is the greatest in the history of hockey. You MUST also remember every blog he writes most likely has to be approved by the Preds management. He offers little to no insight as he's just a cheerleader...he is forced to kiss the backend of his employer, so do you really think he can offer a clear and concise logical thought? Also, he has an alarming trend of ONLY posting his nonsensical crap AFTER a win....very rarely after a loss. Based on the lack of volume on his blogs....he should just go away....permanently!
