Devastating news, sending prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery for Oscar. I have been in shock since this announcement, this is just sickening news. Hopefully the Flyers can still play hockey and Oscar gets on with treatment immediately. Thinking of you Oscar big time.

I love the Flyers dearly, but sometimes we have to remember that it's only just a game and there are things much, much bigger than the sport. Cancer sucks. Best of luck & get well.

Bill, you break the news with genuine care in your words. Thank you for that! You’re a great human being.

I’m sending my prayers to him and his family during this difficult period. I also just received news that one of my best friends wife has been place in hospice care today. Cancer just flat out sucks!! I pray we can find a cure someday. It takes too many from us, way too young!

Sad day all around.....

Get well Oskar, we’re all pulling for ya!!

Very sad to hear about this, especially when it happens to a younger person.

It brings home what's REALLY important: hockey, as great as it is, is just a game. It's nothing compared to what we can experience in real life ... or, what we never get the chance to experience due to no fault of our own.

Here's to wishing Oskar a full and speedy recovery ... and many, many more years of health and happiness in his life.

Although bitter rivals, I'll always remember how Flyer fans gave Lemieux a standing ovation upon his return from cancer. Penguin fans are standing and praying with you now in their hopes of a full Oskar Lindblom recovery.

Also from a penguin fan. This is awful news I can't begin to express how badly I feel for this young man. Cancer is an awful disease. This just really sucks!

There are times and moments that transcend teams and allegiances and sport itself.

In the end I think everyone does just wish him nothing but the best and hopes for his beating this. Hockey at this point is secondary.

You will have all of Philadelphia behind you Prayers for a safe recovery that is the top priority. Hockey seems meaningless when you hear of such a story. God bless

The hockey side to this is a side note. (frank) cancer. Hoping OL can have a long healthy life ahead of him.

Being a fan of this franchise is a chore. When you expect bad news like a concussion or dislocated shoulder of course it’s infinitely worse than what anyone expected.

There isn’t much I would say this about but I hate cancer. Crushed.

Much love to Oskar and his family! We are all in his corner for the fight. Prayers.

Love care and support will always help and never hurt. If Bill has any suggestions on what is appropriate to do to show our care and concern for this member of our flyers family I would love to know what we can do.
