Hmmmm.....I wouldn't necessarily say that. No doubt, Karlsson's deal is looking pretty painful now.

BUT... When Karlsson was playing his best last season before the groin injury, Sharks were almost unbeatable. I can see why they resigned him...and you pretty much new it would be for an insane dollar amount. I have issues with some of the other contracts he's inked (most notably Vlassic [who's FINALLY starting to play a bit better] and Jones [who's the worst starter in the league]).

My issue with DeBoer was he seemed incapable (or unwilling) to adjust when other teams would adjust to the Sharks (very predictable) style of play. He also doesn't seem to handle rookies/younger players very well, they're given such a short leash they look like they play in fear of getting benched. (I think Meier said as much once his rookie season.)

Maybe Wilson should have addressed the 💩 goaltending. And replaced all that offensive quality that went out. Instead he signed a offensive D man with no defensive qualities anymore to almost 12mill!!!!!!!
