FROST!

Sorry, #Dadjokes

I like the Pitlick move, hope it works, that guy has a good motor- obviously not the hands and natural skill of Konecny.

Meyers had back spasms again at Monday's practice, so he may be out for Wednesday's game? Pitlick doesn't have the greatest scoring touch, but he gives a 60 minute effort every game and will fight for every puck along the boards. His energy should help G's line until TK gets healthy again.

Pitlick's played a lot better lately, but he's out of his depth on that line. I don't want to see promising plays die on his stick.

I'm excited to see what Pitlick brings in this role!

Both of his goals this year really impressed me with his control and release. Though not as clean/smooth as someone like G or Frost, he definitely seems capable of working through traffic with the puck.

Okay, so we all know we’ve gotta get JvR going. We all know he’s exclusive to the left and Giroux can be slotted to the middle. I think it’s being overlooked that Konecny has been the top line’s best player. Konecny right now has the best scoring touch and the spark plug. Pitlick works hard but he does neither of the things mentioned.

So the eagles are down their top 3 receivers, best lineman, and no1 rb

The NFC East is a complete joke. The fact the Eagles are still in it is absolutely ridiculous. They suck.

Much rather see Jake or Farabee in that spot.

So the Stars fire Jim Montgomery and no one knows why? Listening to Nill's press conference he said there is no criminal investigation involved. What could he have done to literally be fired on the spot, that doesn't warrant some kind of investigation?
Pretty baffling. Have to think some digging will be done and the reason will come out.

I just read the comments on Ek's blog.

I'm pretty sure I lost 20-25 IQ points in the process.

I think I would rather see anyone but Pitlick there. Pitlick has been good but the first line isn’t about rewards, like we’ve seen with Raffl in the past. Time to get certain guys going. JvR, Voracek or Farabee make the most sense.

Bill,

As the resident Stars blogger here, any insights you can offer as to what Montgomery did? I understand you would probably be forbidden to put it all out there but just kind of wondering if there's anything you can share.

8 year olds dude.

Honestly though, I wouldn't be shocked if he crossed a line with a player given all the media attention that stuff has been getting lately.

hayes and coots line have been the most consistent. If anything, to me this means G's line will be more 3rd line...he can role out with jvr from time to time or spot him in to give farabee a break or have stewart sit an extra shift. Hopefully he'll be in the box for 5 min every game he plays anyway.

he has the speed to play with them.....just drive the net and keep your head up. Wish it was with tk as pitlick can play the cycle game well..but then we wouldn't be in this predicament.

Yea, I think his style can do a few things for G/Frost:
-Drive the physical play, create space for those 2
-Like you said, be a strong net-front presence and be ready to be fed pucks
-Support an odd-man rush (something JVR frankly wouldn't help a ton with speed-wise)
