If they could create space, and if they'd be willing to move l ast year's first, Barrett Hayton, Clayton Keller and this year's first, maybe they could get Hall or a reasonable facsimile.

Of course they could pursue Hall. The question is should they? My opinion, absolutely not. They made a mistake adding Kessel. Chayka has not done a great job. The Yotes need to be patient and build through the draft. Stop chasing what they can't catch. |

I’m a devils fan. Will take this trade in a heart beat and laugh my way all the way to the bank. Idc if Hall was on track for 100pts this year. Why would the yotes trade those kind of assets for a rental? Now if it was a sign a trade maybe that Is a little bit more realistic. But I do not see Hall signing long term in Arizona. |

That's way too steep of a price for a player who has had serious injuries and has a mere 4 goals this season and is a ufa. |

The mainstream media seems to think that they are in on Hall for sure. We’ll see I guess. |

The Coyotes have been patiently building through the draft for years. If they try to win that way, they'll have a 32 year old OEL who wasted his prime. Even if they won the draft lottery and picked #1 they wouldn't get a player who contributes to winning the way Darcy Kuemper is right now.
You can't waste what their goalies are doing it's incredibly rare. If during the last three or four years they got a #1 franchise player it'd be nice, but since they didn't they've got to work with what they've got.
That means go all in with OEL Kuemper Kessel and this crew, then through the draft again in a few years. |

And last year's first, don't forget..........honestly I could have sworn that I wrote "some combo of" before listing that bizarre overpayment. |

Hall is in no way EVER choosing to stay in Arizona, so that trade proposal isn't worth it! |

If that is the course of action you would suggest, then that would make you a really bad GM. The Yotes don't have a Cup team. What their goalies are doing is not incredibly rare. It happens with multiple goaltenders every season. The Yotes sit at the top of the cap list. That's bad management. My point is stop acquiring the Kessel's. It would be a big mistake for the Yotes to acquire Hall. They shouldn't be focused on wasting OEL's prime. He's not as good as you think he is anyway.

As others mentioned, the Devils would jump at that offer if made but more realistically it might be more of Hayton, 1 of either Prosvetov, Soderstrom or Oliver-Joseph and a 1st and even that the Devils might have to take salary back plus add another piece themselves. |

Don't worry, he edited to read "some combo of."
Now all they need to do is abolish the salary cap so they're not $2M+ over. |

The Coyotes have been rebuilding patiently for years. You're stuck imagining the game where you do five year rebuilds. In today's NHL you can rebuild quickly if you hit on the right players like the Leafs did.
But the Coyotes tried that and they missed out on McDavid, Eichel and Matthews. Now they've got a goalie that is currently out performing what any of those guys brings to the team, and a fairly old roster.
No reason they can't go all in then regroup , which gives them much better odds. The idea that they should waste this year and play for the future is just ridiculous. |

The Leafs are in a very tough cap spot and they're going to have to make some kind of moves to get the team where they need to be. Here is a news flash for you. The team that you constantly hold up as the standard, the Leafs, have not won squat.
The worst place you can be as a team in today's NHL is to be a good team that is not good enough that is capped out.
There is no choice but to do a patient build through the draft. Trying to buy your way and getting capped out before becoming a legit Cup contender is only going to handcuff a team. |

Like the Leafs did? Ugh, if you haven't noticed, they don't have a rebuilt team. Great skills and scoring doesn't equal a rebuilt team. Not constructed to go far in playoffs, and this year, they can't even win consistently with that firepower. Why you ask?.....The Leafs overvalued soeed and skill and undervalued good stay at home defenders, two way play and goaltending |
