They moved the puck extremely well on the PP they just couldn't finish. Tough game but both teams played well. |

Still no love for the Islanders up here in Canada. Watched the Top 50 Hockey Plays of the Week and the only one that involved the Islanders was Murray's save on Beauvillier in a game the Penguins lost! WTF? Then the stupidest comment came when one of the commentators said, "Sure they're on a big winning streak, but it's all against teams that are below them in the standings" DUH... Almost everybody is below the Islanders in the standings; actually, they have the best winning %! |

Nice game by Varly Sat night. I do think the more he works with our coaches the more consistent he will be in the net. the goals he gave up against Pitt were a lot of easy to fix issues.. didn't have 5 hole fully covered up, didn't get side to side fully, etc.
My hope is he keeps improving. I am still holding on to the fact that these guy really wanted him and went after him 2 summers in a row. |

https://www.nhl.com/standings/2019/league I'm not going to complain about games played... I'm not going to complain about games played..... I'm not going to complain about games played.

It's an NHL conspiracy against the Islanders to load up the back-end of their schedule so they're tired down the stretch |

BPT won back-to-back games over the weekend, now up to 6-11-4 for the season. Few notable stat lines:
Aho -- 2-10-12, scoring leader
Wahlstrom -- 3-5-8 in 12 GP
Durandeau -- 4-1-5 in 10 GP, tied for team lead in goals
Bellows -- 1-2-3, healthy scratch in both Ws
"Not a bust"

I'm not going to get on Garth for this one. Bellows was not a lottery pick and he seemed to be slotted around where the Isles picked him. Wonder how Holmstrom is doing? |

Not bad for an 18 year old playing his first pro season in NA. 3-2-5pts in 20gp for him. Took awhile for the points to start coming, but that was probably to be expected. |

Sounds good. No way to expect a lot of points this early. |

From an old fart's perspective..... The first time I heard that conspiracy complaint? The 4 U.S.-based teams were complaining that Toronto and Montreal got to play their games sooner, and they were more well-rested for the Original Six playoffs. |

I did get Ledecky and Malkin to fire Garth and Cappy when I told Ledecky I'm very concerned about the GM and coach. - ses111
I was pretty pumped to read this:
To compensate, Holmstrom is putting in extra work. He arrives at the rink early and regularly stays after to hone his skills
That's a good sign, hopefully he leapfrogs most of the guys on the depth chart sooner than later. |

I guess so.
Speaking of, I wonder how hard he's kicking himself these days seeing guys like Wahlstrom/Bardreau/Koivula all getting called up while he plays pick-up hockey in Toronto |

He has no one to blame but himself. I defended him for years hoping he would figure it out. I would bet he still doesn't get it. |

On another subject, I've been wondering where 7 is today, but I found him on the beach. A man and his boogie board....
