Lol, not too often, but FL has regularly faced the backup while opponents kept their #1 for TB. Panthers have a way making 'em all look like a freakish Dryden Roy combo of stellar. So, I can picture it well.

Conversely, would it kill anyone if McCabe sat? Absolutely not.

Curious why you don't have an issue with a pairing that is clearly not working while being relied upon too much?

first off, I think they're a decent pairing...secondly, I consider them placeholders up-top...

dahlin is heir to the top pairing, but he had a very rough first quarter of the season...in addition, the two d-men who he'd best pair with (montour and bogo) were injured to start the season...

in due time...for now, I wouldn't be surprised to see the blueline toi become more balanced in the top four

Good article as usual. Here's a novel idea for you to tell Freddy Krueger. Sit Risto and McCabe for a game. I think our chances actually go up to win the game if our #1 pair sits.

point taken...they still don't bother me as much as those who seem to focus on them every second they're on the ice...that same pairing was up top when the team went 8-1-1 to start the season
