I could see playing those two so much if they are showcasing for a trade.
With the play on ice, they need to stop playing them together and for so many minutes as it is backfiring on them tremendously.
Scouts have to walk out shaking their heads most niights.

The sooner they realize that playing two defenseman together who are not puck movers, the better.

The reason Scandella works well with Jokiharju is Scandella passes to him and let's him handle the breakout pass most of the time.

I think that's the reason Pilut worked well with Ristolainen last year.

Put McCabe with Miller on the 3rd pair, let Miller handle the outlet pass, and McCabe would likely look better than he does now.

Botterill's time is just about up here.

It's unforgivable that he sat on his hands with all the depth we have on the blueline through the summer AND through a good month of October while the team has such glaring holes up front.

There were options to fill a bottom pair role on this team that would have enabled the trading of Ristolainen, McCabe, or Scandella.

The forward depth on this team is abhorrent, especially considering we are up against the Cap.

The Sabres also played actually really well for the first 6 games. Played really well last game.

Last season they were never actually good.

Hockey is weird. The Blues were 30th in January.

It’s 25-% of the season. We’re still in the mix

If it wasn't many of the same cast of characters who were leading contributors to why they have been so bad lately, it might not seem as bad as it has been.

He hasn't been back yet since I asked what the cost would be, which makes me think he's cooking up ways to ask for the moon 😅😂

I would definitely take Toffoli at a reasonable cost for an underperforming former goal scorer who is an UFA after the season. I'd also be interested in Athanasiou, if Detroit is willing to deal him for a reasonable return. Both the Kings and Wings could use help on their bluelines, the sort of help that Buffalo could provide if they are willing to take a hit of some sort to their precious depth that took them so long to build (the way Botterill tries to sell it). Beyond those two, I'd really like to see the Sabres acquire a guy with some grit who can contribute 12-15 goals on the season and lay a few body checks from time to time... if he can win an occasional faceoff, he might become my new favorite player... whomever that might be out there. LOL!

If you’re able to get Toffoli for a Bogo or Scandella + prospect or 2nd rounder I’d do it and see if he’s worth trying to re-sign.

Remember we got Skinner similarly

Bogo cap hit is about 500,000 more then Toffoli's, don't know how close the King's are to the cap. We would probably have to add a prospect

Well looks like the King's could handle that, looks like they have about 4.5 mill in space.

I think Kaiser’s point, and I could be totally wrong, is you’re claiming to be right about things *if* it all goes your way.

But I don’t have a dog in the fight so

The Sabres have had 11 games At or above 50% expected goal. 11 under 50%.

They’ve been creeping upwards last 3 games.
