I am rather excited to see how the players are deployed during tonight's game. Which line gets the defensive zone faceoffs while which ones get the offensive ones. Also looking forward to seeing how the ice time shakes down too.

The undeniably ugly truth is that Mike Babcock was a much better coach with Lou Lamarello as his GM. I think that is not lost on Shanahan, and he surely must know that it is his neck that is now on the chopping block if this team can't respond to a new coach with a great track record.

Sorry, I meant that it is Dubas who is next in line if Keefe can't get his stars to perform.

When Babcock sets a plan in motion he does not deviate from that plan. He doesn't adapt to players who don't fit the mold that he has set forth. It's his way or bust - the latter of which is what we saw this year (and the last half of last season).

Under Lou Lams he had a squad that fit his vision and a plan much closer than what Dubas has given him.

Babs is a great coach if you give him the "good pro" type of players who will unquestionably follow his orders and who can actually play the style he's asking them to play.

I think Tyson Barrie's ridiculously poor showing with the team is a testament to Babs not being able to think outside of his very rigid box.

Seems like I've read a years worth of posts since Keefe became coach, and they've only had one practice and haven't played a game yet.
