Tough break with the injuries for Schneider. Hope he at least gets back to the point of being a capable NHL backup.

It's crazy how much injuries have caused his play to fall off. He was one of the best in the league not too long ago and now he's being waived. Crazy.

You’d have to think we probably shopped him. $6 mil for two more seasons after this one is a tough pill to swallow. I can’t see anyone putting a claim in.

I know someone who had the same hip surgery who was a college goaltender. He says this is a very hard injury to come back from. His opinion is Schneider never will.

Considering they haven't put Cory on IR or listed him as injured it would seem he just can't perform anymore. It's odd how he was really good at the end of last season, thru pre-season and part of his first start this year till leaving that game after two periods. He's never looked the same.

I think this either ends up LTIR or a buyout....

Dominique doesn't make me feel good but he was miles better then Senn or Cormier in the Bing.

I wonder if he can retire due to injury, similar to Hossa a few years back.

Feel bad for the guy. He was too good for our franchise when we were awful. Hope he can go to the A and find his game or find success somewhere else.

Now the question is what happens with Jack living at his house.

He won't get claimed, but maybe he can gain some confidence and come up in a pinch. Someone who knows better, what would a buyout look like cap wise?

Ouch. Might have to absorb the next 2 years to have as much money as possible for Hughes.

In the end, he still making 6 mil in exchange for a bruised ego. I'll take that any day.

This gives Cory the chance to actually rehab from injuries properly and find his game. We're just lucky that Blackwood has been very good lately so we actually have somebody to lean on.

The whole situation stinks but it's the right move going forward. Unfortunate that up until his injury on opening night he looked back to form.
