Kinda surprised Petan cleared waivers.

I understand why the Leafs don't have a roster spot for him as we have cornered the market on small, soft, skill/finesse forwards but if you're a team that needs some skilled forward depth (Edmonton?) I thought he'd be worth a look....

I don't know, I think Petan's as tall as your average 6th grade student.. I wouldn't call him a toddler..

At least he's hitting the net with it, though.

Everyone else is either missing the net or hitting the first pair of shin guards on the way.

Admit it. You miss the days of Neon Dion blasting chin-high clappers that either:

1. break joffrey lupul's arm
2. miss the net two feet wide and two feet high

Gotta find a way to be in better position. Give Andersen a break once in a while.

Barrie deserves a chance on PP1.. If Babs expects him to play in a more defensive role by pairing him with Muzzin and not giving him PP1 time, then Dubas may have traded for the wrong guy..

Have to play him to his strengths.

It was a very strange trade. And it does seem that Babcock and Dubas are not on the same page. If true it is not a the best way to go for the franchise.

I can’t wait for the day that Babs is fired and Keefe is hired.

Don Cherry was right, stupid Leafs took willie instead of Richie
- senstroll

of course Don Cherry was wrong - that's a given.

but the beauty is that now Dubas - if he has the cohones to do it (questionable) can trade Nylander for Richie and a whole lot more...

but that would require Dubas recognizing that Nylander is a luxury he doesn't need.

Well, Ritchie did play for the Greyhounds. Dubas kind of guy.

that may be true... but he's also more than 5'10" which I believe rules him out of Dubas weird stats

that is and always will be a Shanahan decision when and if it happens.

I doubt that Shanahan would actually allow Dubas to internally give Babcock the heave-ho.

and if Dubas hasn't had enough tenure as of yet to be judged by the teams results... then he hasn't earned the right to judge the coach ... particularly this coach.

New players dubas added this summer that are playing on the leafs

Shore 6’ 1””
Mikheyev 6 3”
Spezza 6’ 3”
Barrie 5’ 11”
Kerfoot 5’ 10”

So yeah, just complaining to complain.

I never mentioned Dubas. I just want Babs fired. Keefe would guide the Leafs to a Championship like he did with the Marlies.

Barrie has been horrific and deserves nothing.

I get that a PP promotion may benefit him, but the powerplay itself has been disastrous. I don't see how adding a guy who hasn't scored a single goal and has been prone to giving up shorthanded rushes on the 2nd unit is going to do the team any favours...

It's all part of the new plan. After Marner had a breakout season paired with Tavares he was able to rake Dubas over the coals in contract negotiations.

By pairing Barrie with Muzzin and forcing him to play in a role he's not comfortable with he's playing like poop, not putting up points, and getting brainwashed that he sucks and should sign long-term immediately with the Leafs for peanuts.

It's (frank)ing brilliant i tells ya

seriously, there's this thing called sarcasm, and another called humor.

I know I'm a repulsive dumb boomer...so my ability to comprehend you deep ongoing persistent analysis is limited... but at times, it might be useful to loosen the schvincter a bit... and relax.

just to be clear - I was mocking Dubas tendency for small players versus large players...so yes of course there will be exceptions.... but that is what they are exceptions.

At the time I was so happy that ritchie was available for us to take... then we took willie and I honestly had no idea who he was at the time..

Ritchie isn't nearly as skilled as willie... but would give us what we don't have, size toughness and can keep up with our forwards.

Also manson is the ideal RHD we would covet... we don't need more smallish offensively skilled forwards or d... we need size and can still move and drive the play.. and a little nastiness...

Robertson has already surpassed bracco, and we could throw in petan or a pick or something to sweeten if need be..
