Farabee's been good beyond his years, but let's not get carried away.

TK is arguably this team's best player today.

It’s not getting ahead of myself/ourselves. You just said it, Farabee is beyond his years, Konecny wasn’t this type of player his rookie season. What Konecny is doing now has nothing to do with what Konecny was doing three years ago and vice versa. I’m making a prediction, not telling you guys what will be based on what we’re seeing right now.

Watching players in their youth is how scouts predict what these players will be one day. It’s not far fetching that Farabee could dwarf what Konecny is doing today based on the flashes Farabee is showing today.

Carter looked real solid last night, I might flip that so you're still playing the hot hand but resting him for the start against Washington.
- GrittySauce

I would rest Hart now. They had today off, but I would guess travelled. There is two days off before Washington, and it’s at home. They will be tough but very important games.

My predictions is Farabee will be a superstar and a sniper in the NHL. I guess we’re female doging about fans making predictions now.

Yes, Farabee currently has a better balanced game and attention to detail than Konecny did at the same age. That’s why Vigneualt has confidence in Farabee on the top line and on the first PP unit right now.

not even arguing that. I just mean the kid should do what he feels he wants to do.

No one is saying otherwise. At the end of the day it is his choice but at 25 with 23 games over the last 3 years what are you realistically expecting to get out of a career?

AHL can only employee so many veterans on a team. Is it really realistic to get up and move to europe so maybe you can succeed there? Just get up and leave everything in your life to maybe get to play hockey for a decade IF his body can hold up for more than a few games.

If he gets hurts again then what? I dont believe Morin went to college. He's going to be in his late 20s or early 30s potentially with no career, no way to make money post NHL career.

Brashear is working at Tim Hortons right now and he spent a full career in the NHL. The reality is he needs to be able to make a life for himself and if he goes all in on a hockey career it is likely not going to work out. The smart move here is to go to school and get a job. The hardest thing to do after college is getting your first job with no experience in the field. You think thats going to be easier when you are 30 or 40 years old with no experience? It isnt.

He needs to move on because the odds are not in his favour and he has nothing to fall back on.

They play TOR tomorrow and Boston Sunday.

Hart VS TOR and Elliott VS BOS makes the most sense.

Are you aware of the specifics of the AHL veteran rule? A good player can make a good living playing in Europe. You may think it's the smart move but Morin should do what he feels is best for him. I'm not going to try and tell him what he should do.

I do know the schedule or I would not have commented.

bold-In your opinion...obviously, I think the reverse makes slightly more sense. I think the rhythm of having at least 1 day without travel between games is better. My version gives Hart that rest for both starts.

Fabbri netted 2 on the PP last night in his Red Wing debut. He has a great shot from the slot. I’d love to have see him on the LW next to Hayes. What a great pickup by Yzerman.

LOL Someone actually wrote Giroux doesnt make his teammates better...... Raffl had 20 goals playing a season on his line. Raffl is a good soldier and I guy I want on the team but he isnt a 20 goal scorer.

I hate the whole he isn't a good captain thing as well. I mean, unless you are in the locker room and on the ice with him, we simply don't know.

His ELC for 2013-2017 was $4,274,000. His current 3 year contract is $2,100,000. Unless he’s mismanaged his money, like Brasheer, I don’t think he has to worry about waiting tables any time soon. I feel for the guy, but He should be setup pretty well for whatever he wants to do next. I haven’t earned $6000000 in salary over my lifetime and I’m doing just fine

Neither has Sam Morin made 6M playing hockey. His career earnings to date are 1.9M. He has another 700K coming next year. That does not count any taxes taken out. It's a big chunk of change for a guy his age but he has not made enough money to live on the rest of his life. No idea if he has invested his money or anything like that.
Need to look closely at players contracts and what that ELC total is really all about. Granted to your point he has made plenty of money to this point in his life and he is definitely not in any kind of financial crisis. If he can get healthy and get back to playing hockey at a high level, he can definitely make enough money during the rest of his playing career to live a comfortable life.

nice of you to tell him he should quit. If the kid has it in him to work his way back, and i would bet he does, I hope very much he does and has a career.
