Kerfoot has been good and I like his game.
Kadri will probably outscore him because of PP points, but everything else looks good
- senstroll
Meh, Kadri hasn't been anything special for the Avs so far.
With all their injuries you would think he would try to make a bigger impact but he hasn't.
They scored 9 goals last night Kadri only 1 point

I like Kerfoot....for 3.5 million I am happy with that.
Barrie will get going.
He is a lot better than he has been...and if he doesn't get going by the TDL? maybe something will be done. |

This year has been an exceptional jump for Shore. He is starting 77% of his starts in the defensive zone and just 3% in the offensive zone. Prior to this year his highest total of D-Zone starts had been 37% - and in that season, he still had 27% of his starts in the offensive zone.
He has always been a positive play driver, but this year he is getting absolutely caved in. He's -14 in High Danger Chances and -34 in shot opportunities. In LA he played with Dustin Brown, Clifford, Nolan and Lewis over a few years. In Calgary, for just 9 games, he was mostly with Lazar and Ferlund. I wouldn't count Ottawa since over the six games they seemed to just throw him out with anybody.
In MOST of those cases, he seemed to have a positive effect on the play.
I can see why it's a tough decision. Myself, I'm partial to Spezza because he offers flexibility. Shore does have a history of success in bottom 6 roles, so it's not as simple as this 10 game audition is really providing us. - Monkeypunk
Yeah I don't care who they choose.
I just hope if it is Spezza he gets picked up and the team uses him every night. |

If you play for a poopty team, you end up in the red.
This is hardly an indicator of play. |

Of course it is.
relative to his team he has been even worse than he was on the Leafs.
We should throw a parade for having that contract gone. |

seriously, that is pretty shocking.
I know he gets out everything'd, but thats bad.
but just like the Leafs/Avs trade, Ottawa got Brown to even things out |

Not enough.
The canes took Marleau off our hands and got a 1st.
The Sens get a decent top 9 player and thats it? |

That was just 5v5. His PK stats are 30 D-Zone starts, 2 NZ starts, and 0 in the offensive zone. - Monkeypunk

factoring in the contract, maybe.
But they are a tank team. Nicky helps that. And they have to get to the cap floor the next few seasons. Nicky helps that
So imo, not much of a downside for the Sens at this point in their rebuild |

speaking of Ceci, he has those really bad plays (miss gardiner?) but hasnt been a train wreck...so thats good? Still hope he is gone after this season

The tricky part with these stats are that they are heavily influenced by the quality of the team. So at first glance it looks awful.
Did you know that at a second glance, it is also awful?
If I look at Zaitsev's relative performance as he affects his teammates, it's not pretty. Chabot, who is his primary partner, has a 44% xGF with Zaitsev, and a 72% xGF without him. Zaitsev is a drain across the board; that said, Ennis plays better with Zaitsev on the ice.
Conversely, while Rielly's performance is worse with Ceci than it is without, it's nowhere near as drastic (52% xGF with / 55% without). A lot of the Leafs do better when Ceci is on the ice, but I expect that has more to do with Ceci's partner than Ceci.
But yeah, his overall play isn't terrible, but the boneheaded plays and the weak plays and the moments of indecision . . . he's a better Marincin. I think we all know he could be a perfectly fine 5/6 guy, maybe even an above average one, but that's about it.

And?
Z is signed for 5 years and Ceci is signed for 1.
And at this point I am leaning towards preferring Ceci. |

Randomly looking at the Fabbri trade and see the red wings on capfriendly. Stephen (frank)ing Weiss is still on their buyout.
Which is fine since by the time the team needs the cap space he will be gone but still, I forgot all about that guy! |

Fair enough..
Barrie has been even more underwhelming compared to his expectations. But at least Barrie didn’t get traded a bottom-feeder.. I don’t think it’s fair to blame anyone who’s struggling after he got traded to the worst team in the league. |

Yeah I guess the Leafs just found a really good trading partner.
I am just happy that contract is gone and only at the cost of Brown and having to watch Ceci for a year. |

Oh, I also forgot that the senators suck at trades. Do you remember the Duchene deals? |

He has been awful and is signed for 4.5 million for 5 years.
He deserves all the criticism he is going to get.
He has been horrible relative to his team and has dragged down Chabot. |

I’d do this trade 10/10 times. You have to deal with Ceci for a year and don’t have to watch someone, who may be worse, for an additional 4 years. I honestly thought that contract would be much more difficult to move, but LOLttawa bailed you out. (frank)ers |

If I've learned anything recently it's that there's always a sucker GM bailing out another team. Canucks bailed Tampa out AND GAVE THEM A 1st round pick for it. |

Bad contract, no doubt about it..
But it’s the worst team in the league, haha. Those numbers are skewed. Graphs and charts don’t show everything that factors into the game. |

The Karlsson/SJ one might work out well for them
Esp if they trade Demelo and Tierny for more futures.
Also, they need to trade JGP..just load up on picks
