Karine Hains: Game 14: Canadiens vs Stars AKA Lacklustre in Dallas After two fantastic showings in Arizona and Vegas, the Canadiens looked like they were running on empty last night and dropped the two points in Dallas.

literally fell asleep midway through the 2nd. they never were able to play their game, no legs, no nothing.
Suzuki looked good, again. that's about it.

Good news is that they are playing vs. Boston on Tuesday. They never come out flat for one of those.

The habs looked like they had played three nights in a row, yet Dallas had played on Friday and were fine and dandy. Price had a decent game considering the poop show in front of him. Oh well, bring on the booins.

Well, nobody asked my opinion, but I think it's about time we got a good #1 RHD to complement Mete.

I'm sure someone would be interested in him...when a player like Shea Weber is available, you trade for him.

definitively. even if he's not the player he used to be, he is still worth more to the Habs than what he would bring in a transaction imo.

Then you don't put much value on us snatching Lafrenière this year because we suck, plus whoever we pick with the 1st we received for Weber this year and the 2nd next year?

I mean that's okay, as long as they give it to the Montreal Canadiens/Marc Bergevin if he's still there.

the only team I could see interested is NASH, to prevent them of having cap isssues when Weber decides to retire, like VAN had with Luongo. but it's not for now, few years down the road.

Weber will be left unprotected (and hopefully picked!) in the expansion draft. Brook, Romanov, Juulsen (if healthy) will all be NHL ready by then.

After this year and next, Weber just won’t be the same player.
You want him to get picked, he’ll be declining, but still a serviceable player, and still a great leader for a new team.
This deals with the contract situation

I'd still rather we traded him for a 2020 unprotected first and a 2021 2nd.
