We'll take the win. Sure looks like the boys are missing a few gears in the old Chevy.

This team is nowhere near a contender.

Leafs need to go big on a 1RHD.

Do whatever it takes.

This team likes to reach and poke at pucks. Lots of stick infractions. Big game from Anderson. Hope they keep rolling

Marner is struggling, no doubt..

But he’s still >>> Nylander. The only benefit for trading Mitch would be the return. No ones giving up shït for Willy..

Marner will rebound 100%. He’s probably going to put up 100 pts this year,

This team just doesn’t know what it takes to win in this league.. JT/Muzzin/Hyman/Freddy arethe execptions.

Trade him to make a statement.. I honestly think our D will be fine when the fwds start playing better team defence. They need to come back and help out the defence.

They’re out of sync.

Also, why is Muzzin’s absence listed as “personal”?? I wonder if he and the team had an internal dispute. He was carrying them for a bit.

Usually means it has something to do with his family, something fairly serious. Hopefully it turns out ok for him.

I agree about the team D, better defensemen would be nice but they should be fine if the fwds help out more in the D zone and provide better outlet options. Seems like even if they brought in Dmen who were successful on other teams they would struggle with the Leafs.

This team won't play better defense until they have a coach teaching them.

Marner has taken 2 penalties in OT that cost us the game;

Kapanen threw his broken stick at Petry to give MTL a penalty shot;

Johnsson says to the media that "we can't take penalties" and then goes on a penalty streak that lasted like 5-6 games;

Nylander makes one mistake, gets benched and demoted.

Yeah it’s quite funny.

Imagine if Nylander had that brutal giveaway on the PP 5–6 games ago?

I think he’d be hunted down.

Lol..

One mistake? His entire approach to the game the problem. He doesn’t want to get touched out there, he avoids contact at all costs. That’s not the way, and has never been the way, to play hockey. He needs to understand that he can’t be a kid all his life, he adjust to that. Matthews and Marner are learning it also. That’s what Ovi was saying, that’s what the coach says, that’s what all the former NHL’ers on TSN (fück SN) say they need to do...

But the Branch Nylandians prefer to make graphs and charts to show Willy’s zone entries and “primary shot assists” to “prove” that he’s effective.

He's too easy of a target: "classic swede floater... stupid beautiful flow...".

I was (and am) getting really tired of the lazy stick infractions though. Those are all due to lack of effort and skating, which should not be happening with a young team of excellent skaters.

I don't know how to amp up the work ethic here without firing the coach at this point, which is typically a cop out move, but an obvious one in this league.

Max and you are way too extreme in your views of Nylander to offer any tangible commentary on his play... sorry, instant disqualification.

You can’t handle any criticism of Willy..

He’s been awful ever since he’s been expected to play a more complete game.

I agree, but firing the coach isn’t the answer.

I think Babcock is owed having a chance with a healthy team. They’ve missed arguably their best player in JT and a combo of Dermott/Hyman/Muzzin.

He deserves a shot with the whole team and he’ll get it.

Yeah I think it's too early to can Babcock, but he's definitely on the block. If this team is still this mediocre by Christmas, he's gone.
