Agreed, but I still have no idea what team will show up and we normally have trouble in nj. Really like to see a strong start from hart. We need it.

Keys to the game:

- Keep up the pressure, which has been pretty consistent so far this year

Aggressive forecheck (Joelbee is soooo good...Selke one day?) and PK has been a huge bright spot this year.

- STOP with stretch passes and control the forward gaps, it single-handedly killed them against the Pens

- Depth

The depth for the Flyers look great...on paper, unfortunately teams don't win on paper. Actually most teams in the NHL (and past) this season that have great records don't look good on paper. If the Flyers top paid guys don't play well (performance, not just getting production) than depth means nothing.

- Defense

It has been a trainwreck recently and it isn't 100% the defensemen's fault. The forwards, ONCE AGAIN, have to do a better job supporting them and Hart needs to get his groove back. The fans want youth to fill the lineup and here you go...mistakes and growing pains. Even after 2-3 years in the NHL you will still see developing...right Travis Sanheim?

- Focus, focus and more focus

They have had major trouble dealing with pressure teams like the Islanders and Penguins, they need to do a better job winning more puck battles. When the team is playing poorly and making the same mistakes over and over then this is where leadership and the core need to step up. It should never take 2 and a half periods to figure out what is not working, that's insane.

Good points. Most importantly, you highlight that with all the rookies we'll see ups and downs. As much as the process frustrates me, even the best prospects are inconsistent at this stage of development. It's not easy but the org has to be patient and it most likely will take 2 or 3 years to see exactly what we have.

Nothing changes my mind about hart. I think he could be as good as price who also had crazy ups and downs to begin his career.

Devils fan here, thanks for laying it on us easy in the Devils outlook.

thinking about it yesterday, as here and there people are still hating stewart (i get that people want the kids to play) I also look last year at the pitlick trade. Is interesting that dallas was willing to give him up for a player they had no intention of signing.

It's still early in the season, but i have not seen anything from pitlick that twarynski has not been able to bring to the table. (and get he had an injury that set him back, but now he has had a month.) Just a thought. I feel their games will be similar. lso feel Carsen is stronger on his skates but pitlick is slightly faster.

I think the biggest goal out of this game besides win is to see Carter with strong performance. I think his game is crucial for his confidence. Let's hope for a strong November guys!

If they can’t bounce back against this crappy Devils squad, then November is going to be a very long, dismal month.

No but if they forecheck hard on our D which other teams have been doing the past 2 games we are going to turn the puck over and it will lead to grade A chances

From what I've seen the goalies have been the only good players on the team. The rest of the team stinks and goalies are left out to dry. Granted Ive only watched a few NJ games

Bill any update or info on Fedotov the goalie playing in Russia? Do the flyers have any hope for him coming over or being an nhl player?

yeah, will be fun to watch the collapse of the pens when crosby/malkin/letang are finished, the toughness leave the bruins as Chara is close to done, and the moves the cap-strapped leafs will be forced to make due to inflated contracts.
