Yeah last night sucked eggs ...

One of the absolutely most horrific calls.

That said Rinne was better than JG.

That 2nd goal was the worst JG will give up this yr.

We had tons of good looks and penalty shot but alas nothing - PP is not going well.

Deserved better against Flames and will be very interesting in D tomorrow-

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with Guhle??

Ok, the power play is starting to concern me. What happened to the early season movement without the puck? What happen to Eakins' edict of getting the puck to the net quickly? Last night started to look Carlyle-esque, a lot of standing around and D to D passes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt earlier, because of the puck movement, even though they weren't scoring. Now, the PP is actually a disadvantage. They are MUCH better 5 on 5 than 5 on 4. Thank God for the Senators, at least the Ducks aren't the worst PP team in the league, they are tied for the worst.

Concerned more how they lost than the fact they lost. They can’t count on Gibson to bail them out every game. I’m not concerned if they lose all the games on this road trip as long as they play competitively. This season isn’t about making the playoffs anyway

I wouldn't call this portion of the schedule "critical" unless your expectation is to have this team to be equally as competitive as the more elite teams. They may be, but is that the expectation? For me, it's not. Our road record against all 4 of these teams over the last few seasons (when we were considered elite) was also horrible. I thought we played an ok game against Nashville, all the breaks went against us.

Read Guhle is "expected" back in the lineup tonight. Time will tell.

This part of the season is important for developing chemistry and working on getting the offensive and defensive play together. The game against Nashville and Calgary showed that there still more to work on and that the offensive system needs tweaking. I mean you can't expect other teams just let the ducks keep making those cross ice passes in center ice. It reminds me of 07 when we faced the senators in the Stanley cup. Ottawa relied on those same cross ice passes and the ducks defense eventually closed those passing lanes crippling the Ottawa offense. You just can't rely on in this type of system to much. Good defensive teams will be able to stop it.

if not for bad luck, the Ducks would have no luck at all.

Back to back games over the weekend and no blog?

Great game in Colorado Saturday and the Ducks looked like a farm team in Vegas last night. Great start with Getzlaf getting us the 1-0 lead, followed up by Cam Fowler burying the rebound on Gibson the next shift. That killed the momentum and the game took an ugly turn as the Knights embarrassed the Ducks the rest of the night.

Well..... They had 3.5M cap space and bought out perry, while doing nothing with the cap space. Then they acquire the veteran, 4M AAV, career high 13 point D man. Now Perry and Gud-B will combine for 10.65M cap hit next season........ Ridicules. Consider this:
Trade Gibby for 3 first round picks, Fowler for a 1st, Silfverberg for a 2nd, tank and get a lottery pick. Cap space + quality prospects = bright future
