Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks look to end road trip on a high as Red Wings make tweaks After gutting out a 3-2 win at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks will be sticking with the same lineup as they finish out their road trip on Tuesday against a Detroit Red Wings team that is making some lineup tweaks in an effort to find an offensive spark now that they've returned to Little Caesars Arena.

Have heard the Stecher trade rumours.
Not sure there is a massive appetite to do this.
Would have to get a defenseman in return or make sure someone in Utica is ready.

Wheels fell off in large part due to the brutal road heavy November schedule last year. Road and home games are much more balanced this year - hopefully this limits injuries (which should be helped by the fact that the team is playing more offense and less defense) and long losing streaks.

They have played mostly lower level teams so some big tests coming up - hope they get into the playoffs and go on a run from there.

Krufrank has trade rumors four times a day and hasn't been right once.

I don't think Stech will be traded until TDL. Benn can play RHD but maybe a little more realistically is Tryamkin will be out of his contract around then. I don't see an urgency to move TS at this moment. Wait for the right offer.

Comets have some good D in Rafferty Sautner Teves and Briesbois.

I'd move Stetcher only in Tree was ready to return.

I don't like using any of those guys as NHL regulars. Wait for Tryamkin to be back imo

You are wrong. Teves is turning out to be quite the puck mover. When he was here at training camp he made a beautiful play for a goal around the net. His puck moving skills and skating are far superior to Stecher.

I think the reason Canucks are okay with moving on from Stecher is because of Rafferty and Teves.

One of them would be fine on the bottom six/press box rotation with Fantenberg.. but the problem becomes if Tanev or Edler go down with injury, you've torpedoed your own depth. I don't think they're in a rush to trade Stetch, but are listening

I think Raff and Teves look to be decent temp fill ins at 6-7, but im not comfy with them as regulars at this point.

Damn

I'm not sold yet on the NCAA guys. You've been real high on them since the day they showed up but I don't know if either has much NHL potential.

You need to watch them more they are not NCAA players anymore. They are pros now.

There is a reason Comets are very good this year and it has less to do with Goldy and Sven than you think.
