Give Ullmark another one year deal and reassess at the end of next year when both goalies would then be UFA’s.
- Swedish_Jesus

I honestly think Ullmark is one of those guys that just needs to get in there regularly and get himself in a groove. Being a back up is NOT an easy task.

Still a lot of processed crap in them for sure

absolutely, one of those things in theory sounds right when its not.
Kinda like when a person orders a salad then puts half a bottom of dressing on it. But piece of mind to people is key apparently.

I generally the weirdo that eats salad without dressing on it. Unless it's something super basic. If there's enough of a mix of different things in it, no dressing is necessary.

What's your reasoning? You think Lukkonen needs one more year?

The 2020 free agent pool is pretty bare. Holtby would be the best name, and after that I can't even pick a guy.

- matty12345

Ullmark has only played in 67 career NHL games and 26 years old is young for a goalie in my opinion. I don’t think he’s going to be a top net minder by any means but there is definitely room for growth there still.

The last thing we should be doing is handing the net to a 21 year old kid right off the bat. Let him play the whole year in Roch this year and continue to develop. Heck make him earn a call up next year too. If he proves he’s ready next year at some point then we can cross the bridge when we get there.

agree, for me its a light vinaigrette raspberry etc (drizzled lightly) to give some flavor but not be over dressed as Gordon Ramsey would say.

Obviously we all know the combined goaltending has been amazing. Interesting to look at the stats split:

Hutton: 5-0, 1.39, .953
Ullmark: 2-1-1, 3.18, .913

Ullmarks GAA is high, but he was also shelled with a lot of shots. .913 is right about at his career sv% (.910). He's playing like a serviceable backup. He could still develop, but at 26 its starting to look like he's just a decent NHL backup. 5/8 points is pretty good for a #2.

Hutton on the other hand is playing insane. I think if Ullmark can maintain his level of play, and Hutton can be somewhere close to the goalie he was in St Louis (obviously he can't keep up 953, but 918-922 or so might be very realistic), the sabres should be just fine in goal for the year.

It still leaves open what the long term plan is. Next year we will have a 35 year old Hutton and an unsigned Ullmark. It will be interesting to see how Ukka's rehab goes.

- matty12345

6K's rehab should be fine - this was a standard operation for goaltenders (Ullmark had the same exact double surgery) and his initial timeline was to return around November. So, everything looks on schedule.

We did a taste test between the Whopper and Impossible Burger (my company owns Burger Kings parent company). The Impossible burger was fine - they put so much ketchup and mustard on both burgers that you kind of taste that. My comments:

The calorie intake of both burgers is basically the same as is the price. Because of this I would never order the Impossible Burger. A'm not a Vegan either, so that would change things if I was

I would think, at a Macro level, a Vegan's reason for being a Vegan would prevent him from stepping foot into a Burger King in the first place regardless of the Impossible Whopper's contents.

Good teams getting better

"And another trade:

Denver is dealing WR Emmanuel Sanders and a 2020 5th-round pick to San Francisco in exchange for 2020 3rd- and 4th-round picks, per league sources.

First Mohamed Sanu, now Sanders...."

Believe Ullmark has another year of RFA eligibility if he were to sign another 1 year extension. Also, you might as well protect him from the expo draft. Hutton will be a UFA and UPL is exempt.

You folks are nuts if you think UPL will be here fighting for starts before 21-22. If he's otherworldly, Botts may trade one of our guys next year.

Are either of those two better than John Brown at this point in their careers?

Broncos got good value there for an impending FA that we weren’t resigning anyways.

Eh. Good for them. Average weapon the Bills don't really need, for that price. Or really at all.

Another name would be fine. Paying a high pick for a rental is dumpster.

You wanna be cool? Get Robby Anderson from the Jets for a 4th.

For how Brown is used they both could be better. But Sanu gives me what Beasley does
Sanders would be a decent pick up for a late pick. Same as AJ Green for me
Yes Green cant stay healthy but would he if he was taking 20-40% less snaps

Green for a 5 or 6 would definitely be interesting.

Second half of that post is for the "UPL will be here soon as he's healthy" crowd.

I could get behind that as well as a few other WR who could be had
but think there are other positions to go after first imo.

Not me. I think 2021-2022 is his year to really take ove rthe parent club. Which leaves us with one more stopgap year.

so when do you let Ullmark go?
Hutton on contract though 20-21

So ideally he steps in when we let Hutton go?

I'd like a stud TE. Brown is good. Beasley has been a bit disappointing but generally ok. the depth guys are fine. Knox and Sweeney aren't really threats in the passing game yet.

A matchup problem TE would be great on roll outs and red zones and third downs.

No idea if anyone is available, but as long as we are all wishing for things...

Yes AJ is still out there, but, you're not getting him for a 5th or a 6th. With an expiring contract, he probably would cost a 3rd?? He'd be a better fit for Buffalo (if healthy) than Sanders or Sanu
