How many games is Fleury playing this year?

Might be a good idea to get a better backup....

I believe Vegas is exempt from the Seattle expansion draft.. is that correct?

McPhee made out huge in that expansion. Didn't Pittsburgh throw in some asset to make sure he took Fleury? As if he was not going to ever take a goalie like Fleury regardless.

Didn't Florida give them Smith to make sure they took Marchessault(who was a 30 goal scorer the season before)? As if he was not going to the available youngish 30 goal scorer anyways...

I don't know that GM's are going to be this...uh... yeah... this time around

Yup Vegas is exempt, but they won’t get their share of the $650 mill expansion fee (I think). If it’s that much money, I’d rather take the money and lose a player....

Players about whom you wondered whether they could do it again are now trying to do it somewhere else.

Yeah... I'm not sure "trying to do it somewhere else" is a good way to describe David Perron. More like, went and did with someone else what Vegas couldn't get done.

And as well as Vegas did at the expansion draft, some good teams managed to lose nothing. Doug Armstrong knew Knights liked Reaves, so he protected him (and got a first round pick for him) and let Vegas take Perron, only to sign him back 12 months later. Lots of teams are going to be smarter about the draft with Seattle.
