This was from Tommy in prior blog: (I got your back Tommy, no offense meant by posting the blog then)

I am thoroughly confused by the timing of this trade. It creates so many questions...

This was a move that many here ( including myself ) thought would be made this past off-season to shed salary and clear a roster spot for one of our youngsters. Had we made this move during the past summer, perhaps we don't have to buyout Shatty. Yet we invest all of the time in training camp and now we trade him after only 2 games? Very curious...

Was Ottawa unwilling to make this deal until now? They saw him play the other night and concluded: hey---- we gotta get this guy?

Do we now call up Kravtsov to replace him ---- is this why he was scratched this weekend?

If I am Tony D'Angelo, I am pissed because the Rangers could have signed him with some of the newly created cap space to a better, more lucrative deal.

As many of you know, I am a HUGE fan of Gorton. However, why not try and get a draft pick in the upcoming 2020 draft? I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but this is a real head scratcher to me...

patience is a virtue ,moving a guy who is not in our plans, eat 750 K not half..
Home run, fill slot with either McKegg /Haley
No one getting called up ...
I D K what happened to Krastov in Conn. hope its just a hiccup...

over view: as good as 1st line looks , wait till KK gets his shot with the modern day Trots & Bossy duo, Zbad & Breadman , they look like perfect comps to each other
Speaking of knock offs : Fox is looking like #2 in just 2 games ... cant wait till he gets a few games under his belt ,love the D combos ,all seem to get better from it
Only a start but how would you like to be Hughes from N J ,not the same as exhibition
looking like a boy amongst men ....

Theres nothing wrong with Kravtsov, guys get scratched all the time. AHL schedule is silly sometimes with b2b and b2b2b games.

2020 draft is gonna be a tough one to get picks in, he may be hoarding everything he can to try to move up in 2020 draft cause its gonna take all of it.

That was never going to happen, he had no leverage.

very pleasantly surprised when this trade went down last night, I would have taken a buyout in August, so to get something and only have to retain 750K is just a coup

I really don't understand why Ottawa would want him, other than maybe they think he can build his trade value and they get more for him at the deadline

it reminds me of the Rangers trade for Adam McQuaid where they were able to recoup a 4th rounder for him at the deadline after giving up a 4th for him before season

that's what it looks like to me for Ottawa

A D'A didnt earn an investment of more than what he got, he pissed away a few yrs with attitude & maturity issues , If he has grown up into the man & player he can be
he can plan on reaping that next yr with an RFA deal in the 3 to 5 mill class depending on his season.. At least hes in right direction , need to get Staal off ice & develop his partner ( lindgen ,rykov,) now till then ,work hard & stay straight

? he goes from chtyl's partner on top line to ...scratch !!!

thats routine ?, maybe kid got pissed and had a fit or 2 & didnt show up with the
same attitude he had a week earlier , still gotta break the buck if he 's gonna snit & female dog & moan, new conn. team may be sensitive to negativity ... we will see

BUT IT CANT BE A RANDOM SITTING .....

Im over the 2 c fix NOT getting done, maybe the Picasso team i want isnt ready yet to be shown , in not moving quick to fix & let the players find there levels ,as long as we aint losing then sell The Names vets of & evaluate the combos we can have and keep it all in front of you & we will make another Mika for Brassard deal by deadline if not sooner ...

You have to remember where Ottawa is right now. Stinky is a better forward option than a lot of what they have in place. He's coachable and dependable on defense. I don't think you can overstate how important that could be to a bottom-feeding team. They may not be able to ice the greatest line-up. Hell, they may not even want to! But, they can try to prevent a losing culture from growing until they can.

Followed by another 4 day break after Saturday.

But with Edm being an early game it will be like 5 days.

Not a chance. Someone is going to go off. I am going with Matthews and/or McDavid.
