Umm, no, not worth Marner $$$ at all! Marner isn't worth his $$$. Not the other teams fault T.O. overpaid for their players...
I like Laine but trade his *** for a center or a top D that we need if that is what he thinks he is worth...

considering his recent struggles, Laine should get something closer to what Aho got. Point and Rantanen should be gunning for Marner's deal. |

Laine should be taking a two year bridge at about $7 million to prove last year was a fluke.

Obviously I wasn't serious, but 28 is right smack in the middle of his prime. I won't pretend to know too much about the Jets, but I think some sort of deal involving him could be worked out...or at least not outside the realm of possibility/reality. |

Re Laine, last year hs to be an aberation. He projects to be a perennial 40-50 goal scorer and you pay premium for goal scoring (unless its Marner). At worst his offer should be 8yrs at $8.5 mil aav. Market value would be in the $9 -$9.5 mil aav range (that is what Marner's aav should have been at best). IF WPG is concerned for some reason and wants to go way of the bridge deal then i suspect something in the range of 2-3yr deal at $6-$6.5 mil aav would be fair for both sides. |

Connors career numbers are similar to Boeser's, so that should be close,. It it's also the jumping off point for Laine.. I think he will get mid 8mil bridge, or be traded.. |

Why would he not want to take a bridge deal? He's coming off a year where he took a slight step back from his rookie campaign. I highly doubt he's going to look to sign a max term deal when his value is lower than it should be. Signing long term now would be doing himself a disservice. |

He is the most one dimensional player in the NHL by several miles.
The only guy similar is Jeff Skinner. |

No one should be compared to Ovechkin. He may not break Wayne's record, he has a fighting chance. |

In what world is 28 right smack in the middle of a player's prime? 23-29 are probably close to what can be considered prime years. 28 puts you at the end of your prime. Once you hit 30, you're definitely on the back-nine of your career, save maybe the rare exception.. I can't think of many players who have had career years over 30. |

By the way, Ek, you haven't heard anything about Connor. There's not even a whisper on Twitter, which is where most stories break. |

Most players have reached peak production by the age of 24. |

Laine is on track to have a similar career to Rick Nash. This Ovechkin talk has got to stop! |
