Karine Hains: Red vs White Scrimmage Once again this year, the Canadiens kicked off the preseason with a match pitting the Red vs White squads at the Bell Centre.

Charles Hudon HAS to mix things up. He may be playing his NHL career in this preseason. He needs to at least make sure he'll be 13th forward. Considering who has to clear waivers and who doesn't, he is one of the guys Poehling and Suzuki will have to outperform to avoid starting the year in Laval.

i actually wouldn't put it past them to have cooked cabbage in here over the weekend and i sit relatively close to the kitchen.

i guess my real question is why anybody ever cooks cabbage.

Poehling looks like a man out there and I really liked Suzuki's poise and vision

my boss just walked in and mentioned cabbage to me. like right away.

this is very weird. i can go months, maybe a year without hearing the word cabbage and here cabbage has happened twice in less than an hour.

Hudon was very involved in the play and even intensely at times. He wants to make the team and it shows (so far).

Yea but that's it. He didn't stand out yesterday. He's gonna have to do more.

he showed up late and immediately walked in the building and asked me if he told me about the friday the 13th taco truck (we had food trucks for friday the 13th) yet. he hadn't. apparently the truck guy just buys supermarket taco shells and canned chicken and stuff (wait, is canned chicken a thing?). but the best part was when he asked standby guy if he wanted red cabbage on his taco.

nobody wants that, truck guy. nobody wants red cabbage on their taco. why do you have red cabbage in there?

EDIT: not sure if we've been over this but everyone has a nickname that they don't know about. my boss is standby guy.

I'm gonna wait for actual preseason games before calling anyone standing out.

Despite Byron breaking his stick, you could tell no one was playing for real yesterday.
