Sources say Bogo's strong physical play and traditionally heavy d zone starts have him as an early front runner for the 3C competition when he returns to the lineup

Expect the Sabres to be talking with the Ducks or Faulk doesn’t want an extension in Anaheim

Not directed at you...
But seems like a lot of the Dmen on this roster now need to sheltered/protected.
I'm looking forward to the day when we have 6 guys that they can play without having to find the perfect spot in a game for them to play.

I agree with the premise. However, I'm not sure there's a third pairing in the league that doesn't need to be sheltered to some extent.

Last I heard Faulk is trying to get an extension done prior to waiving to go.

There is a slim chance that Scandella bounces back in his first 20 games and then becomes tradeable. Very unlikely though and if that happens it will be thanks to Krueger.

Krueger is already at Zen Monk status in Buffalo, the athlete whisperer, everyone bought into the idea that he can magically:

I do believe he will make everyone better. The problem is we have a bunch of guys that are awful so their improvement still won't make them 'good'. What will matter is the improvement he will get out of our players that are already good/great. It may not rocket us to the top of the standings, but I just want to see us be competitive every night and I want to see important games in Feb/March.

The roster construction is so wonky and lopsided that you basically have to believe Krueger can make several square pegs fit in several round holes if they're going to be any good. So I hope he's some sort of hockey monk, for sure.

I'm still processing that they're actually going through with it. "It" being whatever is happening at RD and RW

I was tempted to break out the charts and colourful graphics to show just how bad Scandella is, but why bother. As long as he plays, it is a clear sign the organization holds no one accountable. Not one player has been cut, traded, or even not resigned except Pominville, and they might still bring him back. It's not that the organization doesn't realize their players suck, they just simply refuse to care.

Press conferences and interviews with Botteril are going to get so ugly by November. "roster surgery" ended up being precisely not resigning Pominville? The media has so much ammunition and it's freaking September. If they start 0-2 I think this could be really nasty by the third game.

I can't wait to see how Krueger ices a line-up with nothing but Left wingers, Right D-men and Dahlin/Jack playing wherever they want.

Here is a critical take on Krueger. I am not sure he is going to be a great coach. His resume, his experience and his personality suggests to me that he would be an amazing President of Hockey Operations - re: Botts' boss. I guess we will find out starting tomorrow.

It's just confusing. All of it. Especially if there really is no place for Joker here. If that's the case then one of the Montour, Miller or Joker trades probably should have been a forward instead. This RHD murrancy is out of control

I am really, really, really trying to be positive for this season - because I literally always am. This year, it's just this ominous foreboding feeling for me. Are we doing this again? How does this fit together? So many questions, but the answers are coming shortly.

You've brought this up before again and again boohooing about the paste and being incredibly bleak regarding the future, skewing facts and reality trying to prove some overly negative point.

This point is completely inaccurate. We have a new coach who isn't familiar with Scandella who needs time to get familiar with Scandella. He will also be playing under a different system because I can't imagine Krueger deploying a similar man to man D-zone scheme. If he plays, it will likely be because he has earned a spot. For him it might be easier than others because of positional depth due to injuries, but still, earned. Let the new staff settle in and get a grasp of things before we descent to the depths of hell.

I meant we'll see what the season results bear out.

It certainly feels like the ship has sailed on a trade with camp opening tomorrow. Idk the stats on major trades during training camp, but they seem very rare based on what I can remember
