To some degree Galchenyuk leaving next summer relieves some salary which can be used for Kahun, McCann, Simon, etc. Not the worst possible situation.

Great deal. Imagine signing Gardiner and not having to worry about losing Schultz as the 2nd pair puck moving defenseman.

Carolina just keeps making smart moves, could be a real juggernaut if the goaltending holds up.

From some other comments on twitter, he did not get many offers with term. This was the only one from a real playoff team over two years. Easy choice for him.

I agree with Stackthepads. Lots of players would’ve done a 1yr deal and looked for a big payday (reports were out there that a lot of players did that this year but with 2 year deals). To me this means that he’s concerned about his back too and really valued the security. Hopefully he can fix it although so many players do not

I’m surprised nobody mentioned yet that it’s POJ not PJO and there’s an extra i in there. Mistakes happen tho

We had like 2.4m (give or take) and then signed Riley Sheahan for 900k. So roughly 1.5 left to play with, and looking up McGinn he's 2.1

Only thing prospect camps are good for is finding those guys trying to stand out and running people, then fighting the first guy they see. Look forward to it every year.
