Bold as well.
25 goals would be an amazing feat for Kubalik.
IMO if he reachs 15 that would be massive success.
I like him a lot but need to see him in NHL action. - Tyler Cameron
A lot of this is dependent on who JC decides gets to play with Toews and Kane.

If the Hawks play with more leads how much more risk adverse might they be this year? That could have an affect. |

I’m sure JC will rotate their LW. Saad, Kubalik (I know you think he’s a RW), Shaw and Cagguila likely will all see some time on that line. |

I doubt Kane will see any time in Rockford, maybe Toews though. |

Onwards to Traverse City. Not much to rehash now. There are actually a lot of questions about the system and.the higher talent level competing for jobs. There are a lot of prospects to start watching their path to the NHL
The Blackhawks should have one of the better rosters for Traverse City. Snuggerud and R Press lit up scoring a couple or so years ago and where are they now. Both gone. Snuggerud never got untracked learning how to play defense and his knee injuries forced retirement. Press wasn't able to stick in the AHL
So what we get out of the tournament is just teasing to whet our appetite for the good things to come from our prospects. It is maybe a cut sbove the intra squad rookies camp scrimmage. Emphasis on thise garthest away from making team with a few top prospects mixed in. That used to be the sort of rosters one would see. Until i see rosters for this year, have to believe same sort of lineups. |

Among the dmen prospects i am hoping to see Carlsson and Beaudin show that they are very close to playing nhl. I want Krys to take a step forward in playing defense. There are a lot of forwards to like. A couple of them may not be turning pro yet - Barrett and Sutherland.Slavin too. |

For present day comparison, Savard's $525,000 salary (highest on the blackhawks) would be equivalent, after inflation, to $1,030,602 in today's dollars. There's obviously a lot more money that has poured into the NHL in the last 30 years.
Imagine getting Savard, circa 1990, for $1 Mil, to play on the 3rd line for this years team! |

NYLANDER with 6 tucks? Blackhawk fans, he's a bust. Traded there best D prospect for a player that wont play 50 NHL games. - cbrandt
This must have some true insight, as after all, Sabres fans annually have as much knowledge and experience of what being a bust is all about.

Soderlund already turned pro and will be in Rockford this season. Excited to see his speed and relentlessness on the forecheck and maybe even the PK.
You’re right about Barratt but it’s more likely than not he’ll go pro after his upcoming junior year at Penn State.
Guessing that Slavin is at least two years away from an ELC as he starts his freshman year at Colorado College. Drafted goalie Basse will be there next year. |

Carlsson deserves a cup of coffee at some point, IMO. Felt he deserved it more than Gilbert last season.
Beaudin and Krys would be intriguing as call-ups this season but think they both need a full year on the farm first.
My guess is Boqvist and Holm are tops on the list of D-men who could see considerable NHL time this year. |

Two writers for the Hockey News did a mock expansion draft and the only Blackhawk selected was Delia by each of them. They each drafted Quick, DeSmith, and Delia as their goalies. - AEL_Fox
I can live with that. |

Yes we are fortunate to have a talent like De Brincat who has a knack for scoring from far out. He could score more given more chances, why not? Fun times to be a Hawk fan ...not trying to over koolaid the situation but we should be excited with the talent we have |

I think Saad will have a career year, playing mostly with Shaw and Dach. - DarthKane
IF...Dach can make the BIG team....
And...IF....The top 2 duos (Kane /Toews, Strome/D-Cat) can both find their missing wingers, that DOESN'T include Shaw.
The Saad-Dach-Shaw line is what I was drooling over for the last month or so, since our summer moves completed.
That could potentially be one of the best 3rd lines in hockey when considering speed, grit and finish. It would be absolutely a matchup problem for most other 3rd lines and 5-6 defense pairings.
I hope to see this combo frequently once the season starts!!!!!
(Then, IF...and this is doubtful...but IF, Perlini signs, AND can play some consistant effort and grit....THEN, you could insert him on the 3rd line, and play Shaw more 1st line.)
This forward group has some great movable parts and some interesting potential this year!!!! |

Heck, look at Brett Hull going into that season. Coming off a 72G and 41A, 113PT season and getting paid $125K in 1990 dollars. He followed that up with 86 and 45. |

Looking at potential line ups that include balance in each lineup .
As of now their is plenty of speculation until training camp gets underway and JC has a chance access chemistry and how each player rises or falls to the occasion .
If Nylander IMO is to make the team
I see a lineup that takes into account
Nylander Toews Kane
Cat Strome Kubalick
Saad Dach Shaw
Drake/Smith carpenter kampf
Quenville
Perlini if he gets signed which I don't think Stan is that convinced to overpay for a guy who didn't take advantage of a fresh start .

Have been following in the Athletic and Pronman's ranking of the farm systems. He's reviewing them from worst to first and today's reveal puts the Hawks in his top 10.
Will be interesting to see where they end up. |

One of the reasons the 'Hawks could end up with more goals scored than last year, IMHO, is the vet FA acquisitions and their willingness and ability to go to the front of the net.
A dimension not so prevalent in recent years. |
