Nice fit for Islanders !! Should fill 3rd line center. Add Barry trotz and his coaching staff looks like A good situation for all.

I like this signing for a 3rd line centre, but it does bring on questions in regards to top 6...should ( when injuries arise ), we have the players to fill them. BUT, we also have those players as pieces in a trade. I can't see Lou waiting long to pull the trigger once season starts if we're struggling

Remember Boychuck and Leddy were added days before the season started when teams start to have major cap issues. I fully expect a trade sometime during camp or near the end of it. Just my 2 cents.

Gotta hope dobson really impresses at camp, hes done all he can in jrs and isnt ahl eligible so you have to think a solid camp lands him on the isles. A cap strapped team or one in need of a mobile d man should be the target

Hopefully he can fill in the 3C spot and bring up his scoring a bit.

Brassard is beyond cooked. Wouldn’t shock me if he’s riding the bus in the AHL at some point this season.

A cap strapped team isn’t giving up a good, top six forward to take on 4 years at 4 million per of Hickey or 5.5 million per of Leddy. Maybe Leddy plus but then that team is taking on 5.5 million and the plus would have to most likely be a top pick.

He hated being 3C with the Pens...would sook about it to the media.

If he finds the first PP unit it could smooth him over and his point totals would obviously rise. Any chance of him being on the 1st PP with Isles? Wasn't happening with the Pens.

Correct but if it's a good enough player I'd part with the 1st. It was ek but isles with interest in laine ......wonder what that would take[img][/img]

When you are signed in late August it pretty much shows what his options were. Play and earn an extension sulking in the media will get him a contract in Russia next year

Using The Athletic’s Arthur Staple’s projected lineup, as well as Sean Tierney’s WAR lineup creator that features data from Evolving-Hockey and Emmanuel Perry, the Islanders are projected to have an 82-point season. The data predicts that their forward group will have a Wins Above Replacement value of 4.83 over the full season, which ranks 26th in the league if we measure using all 31 projected depth charts from The Athletic’s writers

Good signing. His game is relentless. I always liked him on the Rangers. Obviously his game is on the decline but he’s a real good replacement of Filpula.

I can see the isles making a splash with a trade if Dobson shows up as advertised. I also don’t think Lou has Garth’s hoarding syndrome, so seeing his prospects at camp will determine who’s part of the puzzle and who’s an asset via trade.

Not quite yet, still three months to go It's still golf season.

We don't open until Thanksgiving on Long Island (Upstate NY usually in the middle of October) so I have plenty of time.

so according to Pens fans on here when Brassard joined the Pens he was expecting to jump Sid and Geno to be a 1C or 2C? doesn't seem to make a lot of sense..

Oh (frank), that’s right. My bad. Thought the fun began September 1st.

Well I’ll try to leave some birds for you. Actually I’ll go further than that. I swear upon my 870 that I’ll let any and all birds flying SE go by unmolested.

You’re welcome.

Early goose runs for the month of September, basically. I'll probably try and scrounge together a group of guys to head out east and do a guided hunt. But no ducks until turkey time

I doubt he’s taking the place of Barzal, Eberle and or Lee on the 1PP.
