I think the Sabres are going to be suprisingly good next season.

Thank you sir ! I was as optimistic as anyone last year. I like the depth we have added this year and we should be a better club. Time will tell. Success will come from the growth of our younger players though.

In fairness, it's because last season isn't considered a professional year because he played in Rochester under an ATO, despite having an NHL contract. If you weren't aware of that technicality, he looks eligible.

I totally agree with the grow from our younger players.

That's the number one difference, aside from coaching and some new faces in the lockerroom.

Eichel and dahlin could explode

Sam hasnt peaked
Ullmark should be much better
Tage, pilut, goaloffson to some degree.

Our older guys shouldn't fall off much.

Good question. I can’t see in the future though. There could have been a trade or one/multiple free agent signings that may have made this team better in the long run.

Former league MVP Taylor Hall, who will be available next year, maybe, for upwards of perhaps $11m+

And Hall will be almost 2 years older than Skinner is now when that contract kicks in

Or we spend the $9m now for a proven 40 goal guy

Not to mention the Sabres need to convince elite players to sign here. When the Sabres have a chance to sign an elite goal scorer like skinner, they have to capitalize. They don't have a shot at a lot of guys. See Panarin
