I would personally take Jon Lord from Deep Purple over Ray Manzarek. There is something about your Lennon choice makes me want to dispute it. But I honestly can't think of a better option. Plus thinking of McCartney's perfect outlet passes to him makes it too tantalizing! Good list.

The Muppet Show was awesome. Animal was always my favorite Muppet. But, I always heard it said that John Bonham was the "model" for Animal. IDK, maybe that was just Zeppelin fans speaking.

"While not the most mobile he could take a lead on the bass like nobodies business".
No doubt, Entwistle would just stand there and shred it. Such an incredible bass player. Perfect spot for him as the stay home D. https://m.youtube.com/wat...ist=RDv_3ks7-OjGc&index=3
One of the ideas for this is to have some discussion around music. I have my biases on who should be on the list based on style and my ears but I'm trying to be totally open. the 60s is almost easy wait until the 70s and 80s and then 90s.
Are some guitarists great because they were in great bands? Or any artist/instrument player.
Basically you get 12 picks from an entire decade of musicians in rock. I'm going to miss guys who are utterly amazing because perhaps they fall into metal or punk or new wave. The point here is discussion as there's probably a ton we can share about music based on discussing it.
