If this is true I am not surprised. He lost me last year when he traded Granlund, arguably the teams most valuable player. This is exciting!
My biggest concern this year is that Matt Dumba is one hundred percent healthy. He is the key guy for me. In fairness to the Granlund trade I do think Fiala has a chance to succeed and the same for Donato. Not all doom and gloom. |

Hey Dan, possible landing spot for Hexy? He did inherit a similar situation as Flyers GM in 2014 and did a lot to improve it. |

The Wild need a full rebuild....strip it down and start again ...build through the draft and stay away from contracts like Mats. As an Avs fan we went through our struggles but stayed the course and now we are set for long term success |

God I hope not. No place for stubborn old school asshats like Hextall. He almost destroyed the Flyers, B. Schenn for Lehtera and Frost, haha what a joke He led many of the Flyers faithful to seek professional help, lol Hextall and Hakstol killed Flyer hockey for me with their decision making. Please stay clear even though Minnesota seems to be a bad place for all GM's for some reason. The team needs offence and an upbeat coach, not one who publicly throws his players under the bus. |

If the internal issue is that the GM is outwardly moronic, yes. |

Yeah... I really think Fenton knew the Wild need a rebuild, and Leipold was demanding a Cup competitive team now. |

That was Schenn for Lehtera, Frost and Farabee. Like all prospect trades it takes a while to judge. But Frost and Farabee are the #1 & #2 prospects in the Flyers system.

I think he called them the Minnesota North Stars in a meeting instead of the Wild. |

Fenton made some questionable moves but it's clear the owner thinks the Wild can win now and reality says they need to rebuild. For comparison, even with some mostly solid moves the Blackhawks made this off-season, their odds of making the playoffs in the Central are weak, and the Wild are likely going to finish below the Hawks this season. I would love to see a good team in Minny that lasts a long time, it would be good for hockey and good for Minny.
I think this is just another case of an owner not being realistic about their team's talent and odds of winning. The next GM will have the same problems. |

I doubt Paul Fenton thought the Wild needed a true rebuild. Why sign Staal or Zucc if you're rebuilding? It makes zero sense. |

Because the super over involved owner demands it. |

Hextall made mistakes, notably not attending to the NHL roster during the rebuild. However, the Wild's 2 biggest areas of need (drafting/developing players and digging out of cap trouble) are the two areas where Hextall excelled. |

Best thing the Mild have done in the last year, hoping they can find the right GM/office group to proper tear the team down and rebuild. |

It's difficult as an Avs fans to have any sympathy for the Wild but they are in a tough spot. The existence of those albatross Suter and Parise contracts make it hard to do a real rebuild but that's obviously what needs to happen. So they're stuck in a weird half-life. If the owner still thinks they can win now that makes it even worse. Every good GM candidate will want to stay far away. |
