Off the charts hockey sense and imagination on offense starting with the 2018 World U-18s where he surprised his linemates with passes that could have been coming from a seasoned NHL pro. Fluid and fearless going inside the circles in the attack zone. Will be a solid attacking wing but might also find a home as a NHL centre with the way he easily makes his way inside. A smooth high speed heads up player who moves effortlessly through the attack zone with such good confidence and presence. Strong and difficult to move and not adverse to giving as well as submitting.

The No. pick next year. Would look good next to Jack.

A pretty fair assessment of the Flyers.

The one thing that wasn't addressed was the change in coaching staff (which, granted, isn't relevant with any of the other teams). If AV's system results in a more disciplined D (along the lines of like what Trotz did for NYI), then it could improve the Flyers as much as any player acquisition, without giving up any current or future assets. Of course, that's a big if.

what are you talking about? Gusev hasn't been traded as of the time of this comment

De Haan is no longer a Hurricane and Forsling is a huge downgrade. Sounds like the expectation is for Bean to compete for those minutes

I like the rest of the analysis except for the Penguins. When you look at how they looked at this time last season I’m not sure how you can’t say they’re a much improved team (assuming Petts gets signed and Rust is likely traded)

Indeed, but they made some nice moves. The plus side is they have cap problems while we are still in pretty great shape.

he's just saw some random rumor on twitter. there's no credibility behind this rumor. don't hold your breath for Gusev here.

The rumored return for Vegas is our 2020 3rd and 2021 2nd. But i'm not buying the credibility of it, i'll wait until its reported from someone thats more legit.

de Haan was a luxury as a 3rd pairing D, and just had surgery on the same shoulder he had injured the year prior.

Some combination of Haydn Fleury, Jake Bean and Gustav Forsling will compete for a full time bottom pairing LD role. Fleury and Bean would likely make the majority of NHL rosters today. It's really not a bad problem to have.

Im not worried at all. But I think the Devs and Rags will be the teams in that division. Plus the rivalry thats gonna be renewed. Philly always sucks, Pitts getting old.

Agreed. Rangers won’t contend for two more years. Pretty much what everyone knows since still dealing with sather contracts handed out. Devils are ahead of the by year and half or so

Sources tell The Athletic the Golden Knights gave Nikita Gusev's camp permission to meet with the New Jersey Devils this weekend, to see if a deal on a contract could be reached.

No trade has officially been reached but I'm told a deal could be coming soon. #VegasBorn
