Nah it looks like they’re actually going to arbitration. |

Yeah, that’s what I saw. What leverage does a player with half a season under his belt really have? |

Its done. 2 years/1 mill per. See above link. |

Well it seems to be a done deal...but not seeing any big outlets confirming it yet....only PHN (which I don't really trust) |

Hmm. Other sources saying arbitration. Not a terrible deal. Hopefully he gets added on to a JJ deal. |

ZAR 2 years ...$1M - YouMeAndDupuis9
A little lower than expected, probably for the extra year. Only 300k above league minimum.
At worst, he's a capable 4th liner that kills penalties, can move up for stretches with injuries and of course #grit, so worth it.
Best case, that 1.8 pts/60 is a sign he can move higher in the line-up and he's a bargain the next 2 years, though hard to move up with this depth. |

$1M was the most I expected. I still hope he gets shipped out. |

ZAR 2 years ...$1M - YouMeAndDupuis9
Dude is completely replaceable. I would have let him walk.
JR could have bought out JJ and let ZAR walk. He'd be sitting on nearly 5mil in cap space right now. I don't hate ZAR, just think they have other options that would likely be equally effective. Hopefully he surprises and pots around 10g/30pts. |

I’m not a fan of ZAR as most already know. He bothers me so much because he’s a completely different player when playing with Geno than he is on the 4th line and I don’t mean because Geno elevates his play.
ZAR visibly plays different when in the top six. On the fourth line he skates in mud and his shot couldn’t break wind. When he gets to play with Geno he can all of a sudden skate and shoot. His whole effort level changes. |

I'm still a big ZAR fan...for $1M I think he's great value and im excited to see what he can do once healthy for a full season. |

Gibson was robbed of being a Vezina Trophy finalist because NHL general managers still think goalie wins is the most important tool in evaluating the position. - Ryan_Wilson

Also, if goalie wins won you the Vezina, MAF would have a few. |

This is false. Kingersky makes up all of his material.
Three outlets reported 2 hours ago that both sides failed to come to an agreement and the arbitration hearing was happening. |

He makes almost league minimum. even if he is "replaceable", you'd rather bring an unknown up from Wilkes to save $250k?
He was on pace for 35 points last season. perfectly respectable for the bottom 6. That's the same production Kahun had playing with Debrincat and we are all happy to have Kahun. Basically the same AAV too. |

From the talk on twitter and comments by the guys at the Athletic, ZAR wanted term and the pens were only offering 1 year deals, they were not very happy with his game last year. |

Nope. Not all of them. Vezina is picked by the GMs. |

Honestly, I’d rather roll the dice and see what we have in WBS than keep ZAR. They already have 12 forwards, so I’m fine with the 13th being someone who proves himself in camp.

Good. He doesn’t deserve term yet. Two years is the most he should be given right now. |

Hmm, interesting. I know the Hart was members of the PHWA, figured all were.
I learned something today...but I still don't believe NHL GMs go, "This guy has the most wins, he's the best goalie." |
