It sad that $1m overpay in the cap era is a catastrophe amongst fans |

If Trouba continues and builds off last season, it will look like bargain in a few years |

Good with the years and money
As Jan said, gotta be something else coming shortly |

He’s 25 not 28, I think it’s fair all around. If he was 28 like most when they sign the 7 year deals I’d be worried, at 25 I’m not worried at all |

Salary is reasonable, although I think the term may be a little too lengthy. But still a pretty solid deal |

He just turned 25. If 7 years is too lengthy for a 25 year old who should get 7 year deals? |

Thanks for the update Jan.
Look, I just hope this dude doesn't fall off when he's in his thirties. Obviously that's a ways away but like that seems to be a trend with defensemen. If we get a great 4-5 years with him to kick it off and the last 2-3 are him mentoring young kids and being steady that's all you can ask for. Also in cap era, $7 versus $8, all close enough in my opinion. |

In 2-3 yrs, the contract will look just fine based on inflation. |

Per Larry Brooks:
Trouba in at $8M per for 7 years...Rangers have approx $1.54M with which to sign Buchnevich, Lemieux, DeAngelo. That trio should account for between $4.75-and-$5.25M.
My response:
Seems light for the three. Buch is the $2.8 or so range, so just $2.4 for ADA and Lemieux means that they basically accept their QO or slightly higher to get them signed. (the QO is around $1 million or so. So if Buch gets $3 million, then each get $1 million since they have no arb rights. Could go slightly higher to build in some goodwill) |

Agreed. As said, had hoped for $7 million or so, understood that it was higher. |
