If you trade Tippett, a top rated prospect that’s particularly good at filling nets, for a second rate prospect in Hague, a gamble in Gusev, or a near replacement player like Eakin....then Tallon should be fired.

I don’t mind making a trade, but come on this value analysis is not even close! It should be one of the top 5 defensive prospects in the league, or a true blue top 6 scorer from a team that’s trying to get younger.

Oh yeah, man. Tippett could be nasty and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can bring. And I get your thoughts on the analysis.

I think Hague has a lot of potential and plays kind of a quite game that I like.

I don’t think Tippett will actually be traded, especially since I read there was some deals that didn’t happen because teams wanted him or Noel involved - it’s just fun to think of different trade ideas.

Really? Were I Florida and Vegas offered me that trade, I'd do it in a second.

I feel like you're highly overrating Tippett. He'll probably be good, yeah, but not a world beater or anything.

There are some who have doubts about Tippett, we'll see if he can grab a spot out of training camp. A year in AHL might not be worst thing for him. There's no need to rush him. Tallon doesn't seem to like to give up his first rounders, although for a promising big & snarly D prospect, he may consider.

Can't wait for October, and more like this from Barkov.....

(#7 should be higher in the ranking)
and Huberdeau...

Rats - we tend to have the same likes in terms of players/styles. I’d love to see Hague in a Cats sweater.

I’m all in for trading Tippett or any other prospect but it’s gotta bring me a solid dman. Anybody who thinks Stralman is the answer is on drugs. Gallons downfall is his inability to trade for a top dman. And please don’t tell me “what about Yandle”

Hey Harvey -

I like the Stralman signing, but as an aging defenseman, he's not some kind of magical "fix" - nor should he be expected to be such. I think he'll certainly help bring some stability on the back end, mentor the young guys, etc., but there's still some moves to be made on the blue line IMO.

I'm with you on Yandle. I'm not a big fan in terms of the game he brings.

I am full on like Sgt Schultz when it comes to Hague, "I know nothing!".
I'm curious to know what it would take to get Hjalmarsson from AZ.

Haha.

I think AZ would probably hang on to him. I feel like they could be pretty wicked this year if they can stay healthy. But who knows. The right combo could possibly get him - I’m a big Hammer fan, man. Would love him on the Cats.

I knew FL set franchise records last year for both goals scored and allowed. I lost count of how many games where a squandered lead ended up in a defeat. Here's a "fun" fact, FL lost SEVEN games last year when scoring four (or more!) goals....ay caramba!

If this is all the moves to be made on defense, and the thinking is that Stralman and the addition of Q alone will make the defense better, this team is in for another disappointing year. Bank on it. NOT good enough.
