I read an article somewhere today that stated that the Shore, Agostino and Gravel deals have not actually been registered with the league yet..So the leafs have an extra 2.1 mil in cap space.

Columbus wouldn't with Jones' contract.

Marner for Jones wouldn't be a huge add if anything . Details could be worked out.

And he won't sign a long term sheet. If he wanted long term he would have signed T.O's contract already

Leafs just cleared a ton of space and have 10.5 they can scrape together..thats for Mitch..all the work is done

I bet max $100 (donate to charity) that Nylander is a Leafs at the start of the season.

Its not even a question for me. Dubas wont trade him. Id make another bet if anyone wants to. Willie is a Leafs for a long time

- senstroll

yep the time to trade greedy willi slipped by and now we’re stuck with that contract😭

let’s not make the same mistake with greedy little female dog marner👍

Leafs have a little over $9m in cap right now. If an offer sheet came, a trade is obvious, but who are the buyout candidates and what kind of immediate cap relief would they bring?

Just signed a 1yr at $4.5m and it might be crazy, but Ceci is the first guy who comes to mind that would have the largest benefit.

Don’t you only get the second buy out window if you have a player going to arbitration? Which the leafs don’t. Also they have more than 9 million. Hyman and Dermott will be on LTIR plus they can just waive someone like Marincin or one of the new fourth line guys. They’ll have the coin to make it happen

BBQ all the way. I don't even boil inside, roast in the oven instead. Season with chili and lime. Looks great in the poo.

It's more entertaining, people are just jaded and like to complain about how everything was better back when.
- Zezel

Or they have an opinion.
The game itself is faster and entertaining but that has nothing to do with the cap.

That is correct!

jeez - Leafs are awful, they didn't even have a player file for arbitration?

I love the salary cap for the parity on the ice but holy hamburgers has it turned hockey talk into an accounting seminar.
- Zezel

Not much to do with the cap.
Thank the point system for that.

No way a sheet is happening. Marner wants to a Leaf, this is just negotation bullpoop. He's not gonna sign the prime of his career over to some poop team, and no team is going to give up four firsts for a short term deal. It doesn't make any sense. Marner's not going to sit in a bad situation somewhere on a gutted team while back home his family is watching his old buddy Matthews win the Cup.

I don't think a team is going to offer sheet just to force a match and turn the screws on Toronto's cap either, because then they have MLSE and their financial weight on a vendetta against them for eternity for no reason.

Yeah it's mostly the rule changes. But I like the parity too. Baseball lost me because of being a Toronto fan in the AL East.

I think people that think the game on the ice is worse have an opinion that clouds should get off their lawn.
