The Lucic bonus thing has been debunked by Gregor (and likely others). Lucic's bonus was already paid back in the 1st iirc.

Williams has insinuated it's Carolina or Retirement for him. He wouldn't come out and say that specifically, but he did say that a big part of why he came back to Raleigh was because he didn't want to have to move again. Waddell has said if Williams wants to come back they'l have a spot for him.

So many sources are debunking each other. We will know on July 17th the real truth probably.

Lets face it, all three teams are stuck with their respective plugs... fingers crossed on bounce backs across the board but that seems to be wishful thinking. With Ferland going to Van, that deal is gone and there is a zero point zero percent chance Lucic is swapped for Neal. Maybe Chia resurfaces somewhere and will make a deal and take back Milan...

Maybe....If you package Puljujarvi with Lucic, you can be rid of the both and move onward. It cost Toronto a 1st rd pick just to get rid of Marleau, who is better and had just the one season left to play.
I don't believe those rumors about Lucic for Eriksson. Why would Van give up Eriksson, who is better offensively, identical cap hit, but one year less term????

Just for fun, who would win a 3 lap race? Larsson vs Lucic vs Chiasson

It’s only the middle of July but unless a trade happens this will be our roster for the season....Tippett sure has a lot of work ahead of him if that’s the case

I don’t get why the Rangers and EDM haven’t made a deal for Namestnikov yet. He could play on McDavids wing, had his best season playing with Stamkos and Kucherov. The Rangers are likely looking for a 3rd round pick in return.

Who else will be competing with us and Ottawa for 1st overall in the next draft? I say Montreal, Anaheim, Minnesota, Detroit, LA.

Out of the three I see Neal as the one with the biggest possibility of having a bounce back season.

Lucic took half the shots last year than he normally does, maybe a few more pucks in net would do him good or if he could just transition that big frame into a net front guy like Pavelski he could be more useful.

Take this as trolling as you wish, but I truly believe trading McDavid is the best course of action to improve this franchise.

Would take huge balls but beats considering it in a few more years when his value will likely decrease.

Obviously the return would need to be huge and McDavid would need to agree but it would allow your team to rebuild a lot quicker than it's current path.

What would a McDavid trade look like?
McDavid for Mathews and Reily?

Do you really think McDavids value is going to drop in a few years??

In relation to where it is now, yes. Compared to the majority of the league, no.

At 22 years old he's still considered at the beginning of his peak. At 24/25 he will be reaching his peak, historically at least. He's relatively healthy now and considered the best player in the game universally.

There's not much more he could to increase his value.
In a couple years there might be a health concern, if the Oilers stink still, the narrative might change about him not being a good leader, or whatever media/fan speculation. There might be a new player who is considered the best player in the game as well.

Much more likely IMO that the value goes down than up or even remains stagnant.

If that's the "big acquisition", it'll be evidence our pro scouting is no better.

I don't view Honka as anything more than a reclamation project for with a max payout of a #5 RD. Like Puljujarvi but 2 years older and with half the raw physical traits and abilities to take advantage of.

I don’t think there is much there either but it wouldn’t shock me if that’s the type of move that would be made so I made a sarcastic post about it....at this point I’m 100% more excited about the Condors going into the season and an AHL subscription will be well worth it

This team is so screwed.... we have no wiggle room and the assets we are looking to move have little to no value.
