Yeah the Rangers are gonna be world beaters next year with their second line center of *checks notes* Filip Chytil who scored an impressive *checks notes again* 23 points last year
Might as well give them the cup now! With a 2c like that and 6 above average defenders (lol) they're gonna be unstoppable |

There is some irony here about the Rangers needing a 2c. |

They had 5 regulars who played the bulk of the games.
Burns
Karlsson
Vlasic
Dillon
Braun
The last defense spot was rotated amongst 2 or 3 guys.
So out of their 5 regulars who was worse than Braun? - PLindbergh31
I would say Braun was a part of their top 4, and their top 4 consisted of 2 former norris winners and MEV. I would put Braun over Dillon and whoever rotated in and out. On a team with lesser defensemen, say a Senators team or a Canucks Team, he would've easily been a top 3 capable of playing top line minutes and on the PK. He averaged over 20 mins a night on a team that came within two games of the SC Finals. |

Yeah i dont get the amount of Rangers love around the league. Yes, great getting Trouba, nice to land Kakko. Im sure theyre banking on Shatty getting healthy and Adam Fox playing a nice role, but I still don't see them as a playoff team. Hank lost a step last year, noticeably I might add, they still need to pay other RFA's and have less than 8 mil in cap space, which will probably be used to sign Trouba. I just dont see it. |

so then you have no answer.
he plays over 20 minutes a night on a top team in the nhl over the last 7 years; including this year. My guess is next to none of that is on the PP. Plays on the pk a significant amount. So using that stat only already shows your incorrect.

Good answer to the question. Everyone has to make it about the poster because they got nothing in term of substance. Love it. |

I don’t give a crap about the braun trade. It’s really not a big deal it’s just funny to watch the same topic getting beaten to death here daily |

speaking of Trouba imo he will not be nearly as good as they think he is in NY. He will be very underwhelming |

Sure. He was terrific. -14 on a 100+ point team. Impressive. I'm sure I'll find rosters of the top teams in the NHL littered with this. |

That defense is still trash - bulet13
Staal is a harbinger on that d and on the cap equally, ditto Brendan Smith. I do like Brady Skjei, and I do like Trouba. Adam Fox is a question mark but based on potential, we'll have to see. Have no clue what Shatty can still bring, and Anthony Deangelo showed little flashes, mostly I guess against the flyers, but i live in NY so i watch the games when the flyers aren't on. A lot of ifs on that D, I wouldnt say trash, i would say more like an office type receptacle |

yet he still plays the hard minutes. The coach must be a dope to continue to run him out there since he is a -14. |

Super bummed about homer stemping down, as its basically the end of "Sniders flyers" as we know it. It had to end sometime, as all great things do, but that doesn't mean ill miss it.
Bills article was spot on, and IMO homer wrote the book on how to rebuild on the fly not once, BUT TWICE. I always trusted hommer to put a fantastic core together, he just had issued with finishing off the roster.
If Homer ever writes a tell all book about the flyers, you better believe ill be first in line to buy a copy. |

to be fair, they had one of the best powerplays in the league, so their goal scoring is relative when it comes to Braun's +/-, just can't say they scored so many goals and a lot of them weren't eligible for getting a +. Additionally, +/- is really a flawed stat, I don't like to look at it as a huge metric when factoring a players worth. If you do however, he's a + player for his careeer, and had 5 straight seasons prior to this one as a plus player. |

10 defenseman took the ice for the Capitals last year. Only one was a minus player. Check it out. Who do you think it was? |

It's not about blind loyalty. You can be critical of the team while still remaining a fan. There is nothing the Flyers as a team can do, short of becoming a drug running front of some other bizarre action that could stop me from being a Flyers fan. It's in my blood and my DNA. Until death.
I agree 100%. I don't know any other way. |

I'll agree he's been fairly solid for his career. But he wasn't as good last year. And he's on the wrong side of 30. |

Bill,
One of Holmgren’s moves that always seems to get overlooked was sending little used defenseman Tollefson at the 2010 deadline to Detroit for Ville Leino. Leino immediately solidified that second line with Briere and Hartnell and recorded over 30 points in that SC Finals run. Easily one of the better Flyers deadline deals in recent memory of not all of the NHL. |

doesnt matter. The flyers added 2 top 4 dman to a piss poor defensive unit. They have improved the back end by a significant margin. That is a fact. You disagree oh well.
