Bruins will be happy again in 2020 playoffs. No leaf grit at all ro deal with..

It is not just that they are soft. These are guys (Tavares, Matthews and Spezza) that have never won at any level. Winners win. Always be cautious about players who put up great personal numbers but their teams fail to win. Tavares and Spezza were great juniors but their teams never succeeded. Winning is an element of character. Winners lift their team mates on their shoulders and carry them to victory. These guys do not know how to win.

just what the leafs needed, another jake gardiner. and if you think kadri is 'junk' in 2019 your hockey opinions are absolutely worthless to me.go watch basketball or something.
- Bob_Zuruncle

Kadris skills got lost in the lineup. He regressed last year playing on the 3rd line with worse linemates, glad he's on a team where he can play big minutes and be a bigger part of the lineup. Barrie and Kerfoot are an excellent return

Loved Kadri in the playoffs. The only guy in the Leaf line up who made the Bruins pay a price. A soft Leaf team just made themselves a lot softer.

Everything you say about the Leafs turns out to be wrong. The Leafs will win the Cup now.

Really. When the Leafs signed Tavares I said they would regress on the ice and not have as good a season as the previous year. I was correct.

I said the Tavares signing would put the Leafs in CAP hell this summer. I was correct.

This year, I am saying that Leaf fans will come to regret trading Kadri. Leafs will continue to slide from their high of two years ago.

Keep telling yourself this, if it makes you feel better!

Barrie will hit the UFA market next year fella so enjoy him while you can. The Leafs gave gave up Kadri for a rental player, simple as that.. Kerfoot was included to even out the trade.

Not sure this is the steal everyone is claiming it to be. leafs losing kadri and gardiner in the sum of all action today and gaining back spezza and barrie. How are they much better than before?

So long as Kerfoot doesn't cross check anyone in the head in the playoffs and Barrie doesn't set up Boston with team crushing goals then I'd say it's a win

They made the playoffs and came close to beating a team that made the SCF. They did well. More to be desired, but they did well. Sense made the ECF once and slid back into obscurity and then sold all of their stars for peanuts. Nice troll job but you're from the wrong fanbase

You are good!
I guess all those injuries the Leafs had to endure (Matthews to say the least) and the fact that Nylander held out for some 30 games - had nothing to do with their 5pt regression!!
Cap Hell?? Leafs are doing just fine...Once Marner is signed they will have retained all the players the wanted, got rid of the players they wanted and end up a better team then start of last year...
I hope you enjoy the Leafs castoffs!!

LMFAO!!

I like the trade for both teams. Toronto gets 1 year of Barrie to make a run at the cup with a great defensemen. Kerfoot can slide until Kadri’s 3 c role, albeit with lesser production.

Kadri was asked to be a 3C on the leafs this season. He got more defensive zone starts, was asked to play against the other teams top line, etc. He’ll get to slot in as the avs 2C. He had back to back 30+ goal seasons when he was asked to have a top 6 role.

Then if Jost or Newhook developed into that 2C, Kadri slides back to the 3C spot comfortably. It’s hard to return a kings ransom for a rental. Look what Trouba fetched.

I don’t think there is a winner or loser in this trade. I think both teams filled a need. If Barrie signs in Toronto after this season it’s a big win for Toronto. But 1 year of Barrie + Kerfoot for a team friendly contract in Kadri and I’m good with this deal.

Exactly I think both teams rosters are looking better. A real hockey trade. Avs are going to be looking good in the west.

I got a feeling Barrie will be a Leaf for years to come.

Kadri is a nice player but there are going to be many times when you are swearing at him through the TV.

Do you really think you were the only one who knew the leafs would be tight to the cap this summer? It took zero foresight to see this coming. It's what happens when you have a lot of top-end players.

The leafs are undoubtably a stronger team today then they were a year ago.

The roster is constructed in a way that you don't see as competitive. I am very ok with that.
