I really feel sorry for the Habs, Lee was on their radar along with Duchesne and they are both gone, then they sign Aho to an offer sheet which Carolina will easily match, they made all those moves to clear cap space and they will be stuck with no-one.

7 years at 7 Mil is fine. The term is a bit long but considering the player and the contracts out there, I'm good. Now we need a goalie. I hope Lehner gets resigned but I keep hearing Varlamov. Term will be the issue here too.

7 million a year seems like to much for a guy that had 51 points. These contracts are getting crazy. Stralman at 5.5 is ridiculous

Ridiculous. Lee is barely a top 6 forward, he's slow, no hands, a no show in the playoffs and this is his reward? Lee shouldn't even be our captain. Another July 1st poopshow.

At this stage, i'd rather let Lee walk, and fill in his roster spot with one of our young bucks. Regression, yes, but our youth will be given a sink or swim opportunity. We can't keep tying up money, a la andrew load, and Lee. These are cost prohibitive contracts. Lou has to bring in Marner.
