Sign Corey Perry to a 1m/1yr deal. Let him use the facilities to rehab properly and go after a bigger contract the year after.

The leafs cant even make it out of the 1st round and they are already relegated to filling roster spots with cheap garbage.

Yup, too many horrible deals get signed on July 1. No problem with having cheap players to fill out the lineup, around the really good players the Leafs are lucky enough to have.

With the cap coming in a bit lower than expected I suspect there will be some good bargains to be had out there... bringing in guys on one-year prove-it deals (a la Ennis this year). Hopefully Dubas can sift through the masses and sign one or two guys on a bounce back year

If nothing else, he could punchasize Marchand’s face if the Leafs draw the bruins again in round 1. Would rather he get the suspy than Kadri.

Ben Hutton too...everyone doesn’t like him but he was a bottom pair playing top pair mins...I’d take him on a cheap contract especially with Dermott out.

I think the Leafs still get a D. Nylander, Kadri, Brown are not safe.

Absolutely.

The leafs have a few spots open on the 4th line with special team possibilities...it’s a good place for reclamation projects.

Ennis is a prime example and now he’s going to get paid for it.

Man if Dubas thinks any of those D men are an upgrade on Zaitsev.. oh boy...

We don't need forwards... we have guys in the system that would likely do better than that bust.

We all know we need a defenseman and a better backup, and are having difficulty with that due to cap.

I think you are oversimplifying fake, the young guys will only get better, and they do get a poopty first round draw every year despite being top 6 in the standings.
