Still can't understand how a 2 year old franchise has cap issues to the point of giving away good contracts for draft picks. Crazy...

Very easy, signing $23 million dollars to their second line after the inaugural season. They almost won and decided to go all-in with Stone, Pacioretty, and Stastny.

Now they can't afford Nikita Gusev, unless they move Cody Eakin, who has one year left on a good contract.
